Aventúrate Sierra Gorda — Attraction in Jalpan de Serra

We opted for the Cuatro Palos tour.

Unfortunately, due to dire weather conditions we were unable to see anything. Nothing!

It was wholly anticlimactic and severely upsetting, given that the journey there starts at half 3 in the morning and it is a long and windy road.

In fairness to Aventurate they did say that they couldn't say whether we would get a good view prior to booking. I mean, in my opinion- they've done it enough times, I'm sure they have a good idea of the probability, but let's put my scepticism aside.

🔹️Positives: Miguel Angel, our driver and tour guide, was WONDERFUL. Genuinely the sweetest soul, very funny, caring and supportive. The trek up to Cuatro Polos in the dark can be tricky, but he was sure to take rest breaks where appropriate and torches were provided. It was a shame that it was all for nothing, but thats not his fault!

Secondly, on the way back we made a couple of stops - one of which was the Sierra Gorda Biosphere nature reserve which was lovely! I was in a bit of a mood following the first event, but this place managed to put a smile on my face.

Overall, it was a pretty big expense to miss the main event - but I imagine if you COULD have the view it would be worth it.

My advice is, if the weather is wet/ cloudy the day before don't take the risk. Its better to wait for better conditions.

My suggestion to Aventurate ..if conditions make it impossible to see anything, how about 50% off the next trip? Otherwise it almost feels like you've been...

Desde antes de reservar, en el módulo de información son atentos y te dan varias opciones de paquetes de tours dependiendo de lo que estés buscando hacer en tu visita a la Sierra Gorda.

En mi caso tomé un tour junto con mi mamá, fuimos a tres lugares. Al mirador cuatro palos, la cueva puente de Dios, y la cascada Chuveje. Nuestro guía Hugo también nos llevó a ver la Puerta al Cielo. Fue una muy buena experiencia, ya que la empresa ofrece el transporte para movilizarse entre puntos

Nuestro guía fue muy amable y atento, además que conocía muy bien la zona, desde la cultura hasta datos geológicos de los lugares en donde estabamos. También tenía buenas recomendaciones en cuanto a comida. Una persona muy agradable.

Suena cansado el tomar un tour de varios lugares pero vale mucho la pena, en cuestión de costos, conviene armar un grupo con otros turistas para repartir el costo del tour.

Incroyable trek qui partait du Mirador Cuatro Palos jusqu’au petit village de Bucareli, accompagnés de Marcelo qui était un super guide, et un amoureux de la nature ! Nous sommes partis à 4h du matin de notre hôtel, et avons débuté le trek à 6h, pour entamer une descente à travers la Sierra Gorda, l’expérience était vraiment géniale. La descente dure 6h, il faut avoir de très bonnes chaussures et une bonne condition physique, en tout cas nous garderons un excellent souvenir des paysages pendant cette randonnée, et des explications de Marcelo, c’était génial.
