The boys trip made it out of the groupchat to CDMX, with the trip centered around UFC Mexico here at Arena CDMX. 3 out of 4 of us LOVE the UFC, and the other is just the homie who was down for the plot. You gotta love homies like that who are just always down for anything and have a great attitude.
We got there and realized we were no longer in Roma Norte, and this is what I imagine real Mexico City is like. No english at the door, no baddies walking around with artsy tattoos, just real raw authenticity. I loved it.
We had great seats in the first row of the 400 section, so we could rest our feet on the little ledge in front of us and had a great view of the Octagon. The first fight we saw was UFC newcomer Ateba Gautier absolutely destroying a can with a knee straight down the middle.
The Mexican crowd was AMAZING. There was this guy a few rows behind us, supporting every single Mexican fighter like it was his blood brother. One fighter's nickname was “Lazy Boy,” and the guy was endlessly shouting “ARRANCARLE LA CABEZA LAAAAZZZYYYY,” as lazy was getting the brakes beat off him. It was sad, yet inspiring.
We had him take a picture of us as a group for the memories, and they were arguably the worst photos I’ve ever seen. I honestly don’t even know how he did it. See attached.
The main event was Brandon Moreno vs Steve Erceg, and the crowd was going INSANE. It was so hype in here I can’t even put that energy into words. Moreno went out and put on a masterclass… Although that fight was a little bit of a snoozefest, the card as a whole was amazing.
Really grateful for these kinds of memories with my friends. Our group chat joke is now “ARRANCARLE LA CABEZA,” which roughly translates to “RIP HIS HEAD OFF.”

Read morePARKING IS FREE AVOID GIVING MONEY TO PEOPLE I hope you guys read this even if you work with the Arena or you'll visit an event. The place is amazing and totally deserves the 5 stars. But the reason of puting one star is because there are people outside taking advantage of the massive traffic generated by the event, (take maybe an hour more to arrive at time) these people charges you with 200 mxn to secure a parking space and that this will accelerate the process of entry, they even give you a paper that has a barcode and seems legit. At the end after 45 minutes in less than 800 meters they take the paper justifying that they'll help you next and disappear. When you enter the arena you see a big sign that says free parking. The arena staff should at least try to put this information in the tickets or signs where...
