Acueducto de Morelia — Attraction in Michoacán

When you hear the word "Morelia" the first thing you think of is Aqueduct! The aqueduct is more than 2 miles long and has 253 arches, to say the list it is impressive! It took more than 100 years to build. It is spectacular and a must see. At the beginning of the aqueduct is a beautiful monument calls " The Builders of the City" there you can find the history and names of the people who build this grand monument. Also a the beginning of the aqueduct in the Colonia Chapultepec Norte, there is a small reservoir that you can actually enter (Pictures below). It's not taken care of and there is probably garbage and nasty water on the inside but just standing in the doorway to take pictures is pretty cool. And from there you can see what water way until the next nod. You can follow the aqueduct all the way downtown and you can use it as a reference point for many important locations of the downtown area.

If you are in Morelia you can not leave without seeing this amazing structure that 100 years of sweat, blood and tears made. You will have to go to Rome or Queretaro to see...

Lugar emblematico de Morelia, uno mas de sus atractivos para visitar, hecho de. Cantera rosa que es lo mas representativo de la ciudad bien llamada la señora de rosa por tener la mayoria de sus construcciones en la zona centro hechas de este material sus fachadas, de ahi que es patrimonio universal de la humanidad, puede recorrerse a pie ya sea a un costado o desde las aceras de ambos lados de la calle que lleva el mismo nombre. Durante su trayecto se encuentra con la plaza morelos que es donde se inician tradicionalmente los desfiles civico-militares de las fechas señaladas nacionalmente e incluso uno extra que solo en la cd de morelia se celebra "el natalicio del generalisimo don José Maria Morelos y Pavón, mismo trayecto del acueducto se encuentra el bosque cuauhtémoc donde hay un par de museos, el de historia natural y el museo de arte contemporaneo Alfredo Zalse (Macaz), culmina el nombre de la avenida acueducto justo al converger con la avenida Madero que es la calle principal de la cd. Y justo ahi se encuentra otro emblemático atractivo de la cd. La Fuente de las Tarascas y ahi mismo se encuentra una calzada empedrada que desemboca hasta una iglesia que es usada como templo guadalupano el 12 de diciembre y lugar muy concurrido para sesiones fotograficas de eventos sociales. It’s aqueduct that goes through the city. This landmark location has a statue and a well? Not sure what the end structure is for. But if you are curious, you can climb up and see what’s inside. There was no water in the aqueduct when I looked over at the end. Not worth the visit as there isn’t anything...
