Agua Blanca — Attraction in Oaxaca

This beach is absolutely gorgeous. It's a hidden gem with many fewer tourists than other nearby beaches. My travel book doesn't even mention it. There are several beach side restaurants to choose from, and you can get here by taking a convenient colectivo ride from Puerto Escondido. They run every 15 minutes or so up to 8 PM (28 ps per person). The only downside is the limited swimming area. A beautiful rocky area with some small pools interrupts the waves and is safe for swimming and even snorkeling. Like much of Oaxaca, the long open stretches of beach are beautiful, but are unsafe for swimming because of strong rip tides and big waves. Really great. A lot of local families were there for their Sunday event. It was lovely. But you cannot snorkel or swim here it is too rough with the waves. The food was great. We got a local bus from puert escondido for 30 pesos. And then a taxi for 50 pesos same for the way beck to P.E. Enjoy yourselves. The people here...
