Such an incredible place. We visited during October holidays. If you do one thing in and around Mexico City, do this! I had a similar, out of this world feeling, as when I saw the Giza pyramids or Abu Simbel in Egypt. These ancient cultures always leave me in awe.

This site is huge, about 4 km from end to end. It has two exits. I recommend getting there for the opening time, to beat the tour buses that usually stop somewhere before getting here. We took a private guided tour through Viator and had an amazing guide, so we learned a lot about the place and the culture. We started at the entrance at the Pyramid of the feathered Serpent, and there were barely any people. This pyramid is the only one with loads of decorations intact. We had the pyramid to ourselves. This was the only pyramid on which we could climb ( or rather climb the Adosada platform behind which hides the pyramid).

After that we walked to the other end of the site, through the “town”, to the huge Pyramid of the Sun and then the Pyramid of the Moon. By the time, we got to the other side of the site, there were already more people there. We exited the site here, after about 3 hours.

We were glad we booked a private tour, as our niece and daughter weren’t suddenly feeling well, so we just jumped into the car and the guide took us...

Incredible! We caught an uber from Mexico Centro and it cost around 640 pesos. The entry fee was 79 pesos per person. There are a few food stalls in the way up, also people selling cold water. Once you're in, there are markets that sell a variety of wares, especially hats! There are also toilets and a restaurant. There is no WiFi available. The pyramids are incredible. Once you're past the stalls and restaurant, the ruins are right in front of you. If you want to get to the largest, it is quite a walk though. I would highly recommend the restaurant too, the best Mexican food I had in Mexico and excellent views of the ruins. Once we finished up, we did get stuck though as there were no available taxis and no WiFi to book an uber. I would recommend getting a taxi there and ask them to wait to take you back, or get a tour bus, I believe this is what most sólo travellers do. We got a bus back into the city at 55 pesos per person which was cheap but the bus was full of...

It’s the higher rated of the experiences here and I agree. No lines, no waiting times and a super monument to see. Your ticket (90MXN) covers you for this + the pyramids.

Only practial point I would suggest is park or get your taxi to drop you off at this monument and walk to see this then down to the pyramids. The drive from here to the ither attractions takes longer than the walk in hindsight.

Only negative some people might not like is the sellers. The ones located around the edges are OK the ones who constantly approavh you are a little annoying but hey thats quite a common theme in Mexico, people will try to sell you things. Just roll with it and enjoy the experience.

Only suggestion to improve the experience would be to give us more signs so we can learn about the history. They were lacking or slightly repetitive on the ones they did have. There must be so much history the place could...

Mexico City, Teotihuacàn • Teotihuacan is a vast Mexican archaeological complex northeast of Mexico City. Running down the middle of the site, which was once a flourishing pre-Columbian city, is the Avenue of the Dead. It links the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, the Pyramid of the Moon and the Pyramid of the Sun, the latter two with panoramic views from their summits. Artifacts in the Museum of Teotihuacan Culture, on-site, include pottery and bones. • #mexicocity #teotihuacan #pyramides #airballoon #fyp #viral #sunrise #sunset
