Restaurante las Piramides — Restaurant in State of Mexico

We got there at 4pm very hungry. We looked at their menu, and it was about 150-200 pesos per meal, or about 250 pesos per 'combo', which included a soup, an entrée, and dessert. Kids combos were about 110 pesos. Very pricey for Mexican standards, but I figured you pay for the location, so fine. We ordered 3 combos, 2 kids combos, and one entrée. They took forever to bring the food, they brought dessert before the entrée, they offered to switch items from the combos to later (40mins later !) say that they would have to charge more for the items, which we said fine, and then later (about 1 hour by now ) they came back to say that they could not switch items anymore! We were really hungry by then, so we took whatever. The food came without the standard lime, cheese, etc. It took a lot of prompting to get all the ingredients. Finally, 2 hours later (6pm, they had already closed the site) I had to look for them to pay the bill, and was overcharged one dessert, had to protest and they called the waiter who took responsibility and said he would pay the overcharged dessert. Entiendo que cada quien opina según su experiencia, pero me cuesta trabajo entender que este lugar tenga tantas opiniones “positivas” que lo clasifican de regular a bueno, cuando las deficiencias y carencias que note en mi visita a este restaurante no me parecen obra de la casualidad, aclaro que no me considero un comensal de paladar exigente, detallaré los incidentes que experimente en este restaurante:

1. Poca higiene y carencia de agua en los sanitarios.
2. Servicio sumamente lento, el restaurante “Las Pirámides” es el único lugar en donde las entradas vienen después del plato fuerte, el plato fuerte tardo en llegar 1 hra 10 min aprox y mis entradas vinieron 15 min después, aunque las quise cancelar me dijeron que esto no se podía porque ya estaban dentro de sistema, así que de cualquier forma me las cobraron.
3. La presentación de los platillos deja mucho que desear y dentro de las bebidas encontré un cabello y en otra un insecto (¿Mala suerte?)
4. El lugar se asemeja a la tienda de abarrotes de la esquina que se queda sin insumos básicos en un par de horas, en su carta enlistan bebidas de coctelería pero al ordenar me indicaron que el restaurante no contaba en ese momento con ningún licor (aclaro que no era día de ley seca); por otro lado junto con los alimentos nos entregaron 4 tortillas para 7 comensales, al solicitar otra ración de estas nos indicaron que estas se habían terminado (¿Seguimos con la mala suerte?)
5. Uno de los platillos que solicite fue la especialidad de la casa y 1 hora y media después se me informo que ya no tenían dicho platillo por lo que me lo cambiarían por cualquier otro del menú, indique que ya no quería nada y que me cancelaran dicha orden, se negaron nuevamente ante esta petición y al igual que las entradas me cobraron pero esta vez POR ALGO QUE NI SIQUIERA CONSUMÍ. Tratándose de alimentos el precio no es algo en lo que se debiera escatimar siempre y cuando la calidad del producto y del servicio sean buenos, y en este lugar definitivamente la relación costo beneficio no...

Only good on weekends, avoid it on weekdays.

The food we got was really good and the server was nice but they were out of almost everything in the menu, and they didn’t warn us when we arrived, even then after one drink, one main and one dessert seemingly available they were out of ingredients to make another one, and since we were 5 people (3 kids) it just felt so terrible that only one got something.

It was not even late, just before noon. They said it’s because it was a week day, that they have all ingredients on the weekend, but well, I believe if you’re are an open restaurant maybe have some ingredients to prepare some foods/drinks. Great food,...
