Uno dei simboli della Transnistria è la statua di Lenin, sistemata dinanzi al Palazzo del governo e al soviet della Repubblica. Il monumento, simile a quello di Berlino, fu eretto per l'anniversario dei settant'anni della rivoluzione d'ottobre. Alle sue spalle, come detto, svetta il palazzone che ospita il Parlamento. Preceduto da un'imponente scalinata, esso fu edificato negli anni ottanta, in puro stile tardo sovietico.

Iconic building, but be aware that photos of solely the building are prohibited. My guide and myself were approached by authorities after taking a photo of the statue. The guard took photos of our IDs and entry papers, looked at our picture, and sent...

The Parliament house is not allowed to visit but you can have a look on the Monument to Lenin outside. The building is a of Soviet style and stand at the far west end...

Был воздвигнут в 1987, к 70-летию Октябрьской революции.  Является «младшим братом» другого монумента – 19-метровой  статуи из розового гранита в Берлине на Leninplatz (ныне площадь Объединенных наций), которого в 1970 году создал известнейший советский скульптор Николай Томский. 17 лет спустя в студии Томского его ученик В.С. Климачев создал новую статую, которая до сих пор стоит перед Верховным Советом Приднестровья. Еще 4 года спустя тираспольский Ленин остался без «старшего брата» – памятник в Берлине...
