Outstanding! My partner, daughter, and I spent the morning there, and had a great time. I took advantage of the free entry to show our 18 month old to see some A list animals. Giraffes, Zebras, Rhinos….all sorts to see, and we didn’t get to see them all as the zoo was so big, so we are planning our next trip there in a week or two. The zoo is super family friendly with long and short routes to take. There are also a load of picnic benches dotted around the park so it’s perfect for feeding the little ones or having a break. Transport is great too with a shuttle bus that goes right to the door. Also, there are some kids play parks, hopefully the one for toddlers is fixed soon. Our little one would love it. The zoo also appears to be a popular place for running. Finally, not sure if it’s connected to the zoo but there is a super cheap cafe with fantastic quality food at the entrance. I’d recommend there too! If I could having given 100 star review, I would have. Can’t wait to go again💪

I am not a fan of the zoo, aquariums or any other places where any kind of animals get imprisoned. However, the Montpellier Lunaret park and zoo is a wide 80-hectare park with free entrance and the priority is to provide the best-simulated environment for animals that some of them are even endangered species. You can have a nice walk in nature and see some fantastic creatures along your path. There are two-three picnic places if you want to rest a bit. Also, there is a restaurant beside the zoo by the entrance for those who want to eat lunch or some snacks. You can spend a few hours or half a day in the zoo. By the way, you can go there by public transportation, there is a shuttle that you can take at tram 1 stop Université Sciences et Lettres to the Zoo (stop Zoo).

It is a big park with some animals. The zoo area is huge, so be prepared for a long walk and get enough water. Free entrance to a big part of the park was nice. Animals are free but well protected, and nicely kept in a natural environment, which is good. However they are hardly seen and the path does not have any trees that make shadow, which makes it hard to see it all in a single day in summer with so much sun. The restaurant is found only near the main entrance, we did not see any other are to eat or drink, so you need to carry water and some snacks. Signs are not so clear; sometimes we felt lost in the middle of nothing. In general, there is lots of room for improvement...

This is an interesting park and entry is free but I took my three children there expecting to see lots of animals and that wasn't the case. Due to the heat, they found it tricky walking the 3opening, fairly stark pathways and disappointment at the lack of visible animals. There are rhinos , gazelles and giraffes and we did see the cheetahs but the park but there's not enough to keep hot expectant children engaged. There are boards picturing the insects that live in the park habitat but they are not actually there to look at , except by chance! It's more of a walk in a park with some animals about the a zoo. I imagine far nicer in spring too.
