Jardim zoológico — Attraction in Maputo Province

Visited here for the first time a couple weekends ago. Far exceeded my expectations. Lots of birds. Lions, tigers, monkeys. Many animals roaming around to feed, pet, and take pictures with: emus, camel, zebras. Four meter boa constrictor you can hold. Unfortunately the girafe they used to have recently died of a snake bite (not the boa constrictor). They said they are getting more giraffes soon. The food at the restaurant was okay, but it took a while. So if you want to eat there, order before you look at the animals so it will be ready...

Great place to visit some majestic beings upclose. However the property is not officially open and still under construction. If you still wish to visit the location have some cash in hand, since cards are not accepted and don't wait for a receipt and it will cost you an entrance fee of 500mzn per individual and children above 4 years. There is no perfect direction available, do when you reach the spot look out for a very small left turn sign and just drive in thru the mud road. Asking the locals might also help you locate...

Animals are not treated well , especially big ones and most of them are malnourished. The facility does not have much to enjoy other than party. Also the facility does not allow food from outside and they oblige visitors to buy food (include soft drinks) from the facility that is triple priced.
