Beautiful scenery, but absolutely trashed and disrespected by many so called ‘pilgrims’. Stream of trash from bottom to top. Don’t pretend to be on a pilgrimage and that you believe in God and at the same time throwing your trash on God’s earth, and especially in the mountains which are holy places. I was utterly disgusted at the behaviour of the people going up on this trek. Loud behaviour, having intercourse in the hotels all night, throwing trash. Be ashamed of yourself. In Europe our mountains are pristine clean, and it doesn’t take a person to believe in God, but we have a certain love/respect for the mountains. Read moreWe did it in this manner :- Day 1 - Started from Dhunche by 7am - lunch at Singompa (chandanwari) 01:00pm. Ended our day at Lauribina 4pm. Total distance - 17.9km. Day 2 - Started from Lauribina by 6:30am - Gosaikunda by 8:15am - left from Gosaikunda by 10am. Reached back to Lauribina by 11:20am. Lunch at Chandanwari 2pm and nap till 3pm. Reached Dhunche by 6pm. Total distance - 29.3km.
Total trekking distance from Dhunche to Dhunche - 47.5km approx. Total trekking hours - 17 hours. We did at easy pace. Without guide or any porter....
