July 2022: Beautiful piece of nature. Perhaps not the most exciting waterfall if you're spoiled with seeing some of them in countries such as Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, but for The Netherlands it doesn't get any more exciting than this. Awesome to cool your feet in warm weather. Freely accessible. Free parking. Just a short 5 minute walk from the parking lot to get to the 4 story waterfall. Clean fresh water. Read moreYou get what you see - A flight of stairs with a tiny amount of water trickling over them. Nothing more. This man made "waterfall" is not worth the pomp and ceremony built up around it. Children seemed to enjoy stomping their feet in the water, so that is great. The "waterfall" is really just a children's playground, nothing more. For adults, the juice is not worth the squeeze. The canal is almost four miles long and is supposed to transport groundwater from the top of mount Vrijenberg to the Apeldoorns canal. The ‘waterfall’ was made to prevent the steam to go too fast.
