Huis Zypendaal — Attraction in Arnhem

We went here for a visit early autumn. They are only open Sundays and a reservation is required. We were welcomed in the cellar and our son received a kids puzzle tour book which he loved. We took the stairs up to the first floor and walked through the four open rooms. There was staff present to answer questions and share some interesting facts. Some staff members were more welcoming / friendly than others. It’s a shame the other floors of the house are off limits, there are offices there. This makes for a quick tour. Het is kerst op huis Zypendaal. Je bent uitgenodigd door de familie Brantsen, om een kijkje te nemen in hun huis, zo rondom de feestdagen. Het huis is voor deze gelegenheid ingericht in warme kerstsferen. Je ontmoet tijdens de rondgang een aantal bewoners en personeelsleden van het huis. Ook zal er prachtige live (kerst)muziek worden gespeeld in het huis.

Al weken geleden hadden we hiervoor tickets besteld en onze verwachtingen waren hoog gespannen…. Vandaag was het zover en een grotere anticlimax ten opzichte van wat beloofd werd, hebben we nog niet meegemaakt. Er was een mevrouw ie wat harpmuziek ten gehore bracht en 1 heer die prachtig verkleed was maar dat was het voor wat betreft muziek en ‘ personeel van vroeger tijden’ Binnen 10 minuten waren we binnen en weer buiten. Hulde wel aan de vrijwilligers maar de hoge anticipatie die, door de voorlichting, wordt gecreëerd, wordt heel, heel snel de grond in geboord!...
