My wife and I first ventured to Aruba for our honeymoon in 2020 and it was a life changing trip for us. When we returned in 2021 we were curious to see how everything would hold up. We had another wonderful time, but by far the experience for me that raised the bar even further was snorkeling with RJ. We were so lucky to have run across his company through his girlfriend!
We booked a snorkeling tour with Aruba Outdoor Adventures out of Mangel Halto. This place is absolutely beautiful and there is a good chance it would have taken many trips before we ended up out here!
RJ was very friendly, incredibly informative, and took great care of us! My wife is not a great swimmer but fell in love with snorkeling last year with a life vest on. RJ was able to coach her up and help her get comfortable snorkeling without using a jacket! Tons of pictures, videos, showed us a bunch of stuff and educated us on a lot of stuff he was showing us so we knew where to be looking/what to be looking for. After the tour we were able to get out, he had refreshment and a snack to help offset the salt. As a small business owner the time he puts into your experience BEFORE and AFTER the tour says volumes. That is a person who cares about what he does and how he does it, this is a huge value when I look for businesses to do business with and when we return to Aruba, Aruba Outdoor Adventures is the first on my list of places I will be scheduling with every time we go. I didn't feel like I was taken on a tour, I felt like a friend was showing me around, that's remarkable.
Since returning I have followed the page and became a top fan on FB. That wasn't hard at all, I love seeing all the photos and videos of the tours. And to add to that, RJ is a wonderful person. Recently some swimmers were in distress and RJ swam out to assist them, only to find out there was a third who was lost. He was able to save that swimmer as well. I don't put this up here for anything other than the fact that actions speak louder than words in this world, RJ's actions are that of someone who is a caring person above and beyond themselves and I cannot express how respectable that is. I am honored to have met RJ, became friends, and look so gratefully forward to return in 2022!
Thank you for such an...
Ā Ā Ā Read more5+.... amazing, simply amazing!!! I found RJ outdoor adventures thru reviews and word of mouth. I don't like swimming, I don't really swim I float. I did this as my husband really wantd to snorkel. Our trip was saved by Ivan the taxi driver as he contacted RJ that we were actually in town and ready for our adventure. Being on a cruise boat you don't always get messages and we clearly missed some. Since I booked this in a year in advance. Ivan was an important part for connection. We arrived to find that we were the only two there, I was very surprised maybe and a little worried. RJ was straight to the point, his concern was the respect for what you were about to see and appreciation of the gift of life. He explained all the swimming, how to breathe, what to expect, it was a lot to take in. he layed it all out and then went piece by piece while we traveled. the kayak's were very cool and very happy they were peddled I think it worked better for us. We brought phones in cases to take pictures-LEAVE THEM AT HOME- you don't need them. I swam with RJ for quite a bit and then at one point he took my hand off his shoulder and told me to go and swim, a little nervous but really I did fantastic I was so proud of myself. Spanish Lagoon is RJ's playground as a child he knows it inside out, he swims like a fish. if you want an experience of a lifetime see RJ, if your nervous about water see RJ. RJ thank you for our tour and the pictures are amazing. we will call on you when...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur family of four recently had the great pleasure of participating in a guided snorkel tour, lead by RJ. Instead of being ferried around on a motor boat, we accessed the snorkeling spot via pedal-kayaks and by expending a little bit of energy! While this is obviously an environmentally friendly way of exploring the island, it is also much quieter and way more exciting (we saw a green sea turtle)! The kayaks are very comfortable and easy to maneuver - just like riding a bike! The snorkeling spot itself was amazing and we saw lots of fish and other sea-creatures, as well as many different kinds of coral. It was the first time we took our two young sons (5 and 8 years old) out snorkeling in the open water and, although the water was a bit choppy, they both did great and we felt very safe at all times. RJ is an extremely knowledgeable guide who actually grew up around the very spot where we went snorkeling. RJ is a passionate advocate for the preservation of Aruba's natural spaces, particularly its coral reefs. He is also a free diver (ask him about his record for holding his breath!). Our snorkeling tour with RJ was the highlight of our trip and we highly recommend it! RJ also offers a picture and movie packet that can be purchased separately, which we also highly recommend. We'll return when our boys are a little bit bigger to "venture...
