What a great suprise this museum is. Well worth the €8 entry. The museum has everything about the battles that occurred in the area 75 years ago ( Operation Market Garden) and is full of displays. The people who run it are volunteers and have a real passion and are more than happy to speak with you. One of the most fascinating parts is the radio display. The guy who runs it is a great character and clearly has a real passion and lots of enthusiasm for his display, amazing is one word of how I could describe the his display. The museum has many other displays from WW2 consiting of mostly British and German military equipment. There is even a C-47 sitting in one part of the building which you can climb inside. Absolutely amazing museum for the price and well worth a visit. A lot of credit should go to the people who run this museum, it's a...
Read moreWe did the private tour with Ernst. He was an exceptional tour guide. We absolutely loved our tour! The museum is really interesting and the exhibits were complemented well by Ernest's commentary. The Willy's Jeep tour of the Operation Market Garden landing zones was so cool. We really enjoyed all the landmarks and stops. We especially enjoyed meeting some people that were there during the glider landings. The tour was organized, lunch was delicious and the routes and sites were interesting. Ernst was passionate and knowledgeable making the experience fun and informative.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in WWII. If you can't do the tour, the museum is really great. They have some really interesting exhibits...
Read moreExcellent museum with many unique artifacts from WWII. I have been to many war museums all over the world and this museum's collection possess many items I had never seen before.
TIP: the parking lot is the area right off off the main road (Sonseweg), you walk the rest of the way. The day we visited, we drove right up to the front door but something didn't "feel" right so I asked. There was a special event going on so I assume the gate we drove through should have been closed but wasn't. Regardless as soon as you turn off Sonseweg into what appears to be a restaurant's parking lot, you are in the parking lot, park. Go around behind the restaurant, past the art gallery and you will see the museum on your right...
