This is a paradise for tranquility and wonderful vistas, especially in the early morning or late evening when the deer are out in force. Since no bicycles are allowed within the area, it is just people hiking and distances all around are really good. From the Oasis entrance to the beach is around 5.7 kms (around 3.5 mls) and almost all over hardstanding paths (except for the last couple of hundred meters from the cycle path at the exit of the park up to the top of the dunes overlooking the sea.
Another route that I could highly recommend takes you to all entrances (the Oasis, Panneland, then to the exit near the beach and to the Zandvoortselaan back to the Oasis. That is a 22 kms or 13.75 mls walk.
There are shelters spread around the area to cover from a shower and the area south of the path that is leading from the Oasis entrance to the beach is favoured by many ornithologists.
Other animals you can come across are red foxes, the odd squirrels and rabbits. Please be aware of the opening times and closing times in order to let the deer live in peace.

Read moreAnother gem of a national park, great for hiking, running and small kids on cycles. It’s a lovely combination of water, dunes, sand and forests.
There is parking nearby and a okay cafe if you want a drink or snack. Parts of the roads in the park are paved so it also works well for prams or wheelchairs .
You can also spot deer (and fawns) if you look carefully—and it’s just perfectly...
