One of the best hikes on the island. We clocked it at 1.5 miles and it took about 1.5 hours - than includes breaks and picture taking. Fairly shady but I’d still recommend sun block and a hat. Good shoes are a must - an easy to moderate hike but lots of loose rock on parts 0f the trail especially assents and descents. Lots of birds. Heard birds sounds the entire walk. Lots of yellow shouldered parrots! The trail is well marked. Park at the Dos Pos windmill. Look for two pink rocks marking the start of the trail. At the end of the hike you will enter the paved road. Turn left and walk about 15 - 20 minutes back to the parking lot. Notice the entrance to the Montana Trail. This is...
Read moreWe hiked this trail a couple of days after heavy rainfall. The trail is well marked, next to the antenna (left side) you start the trail. It is well marked with pink stones all the way. However because of the rain fall large part of the trail changed into a river and we had to find our way across and through. There were also parts with quite some under growth. Many people warn for cactus thorns, however there are more bushes with thorns you have to worry about. It took us 1.5 hour to go around, the last part walking back on Kaminda Goto road felt actually the longest and felt a bit boring. Despite the extra challenges we enjoyed it and loved the view we had...

The trail is well signposted with pink stones all the way. So you won’t get lost. After a short climb you reach a valley with beautiful views of the surrounding hills, ending with great views of the Goto lake. We started early, 6:30AM, and that was a good decision. We walked in the cool and shade most of the time and were the only people around. Be sure to bring water and please wear hiking shoes, cause the cacti and rocks are...
