Oil Slick Leap (20) — Attraction in Bonaire

Great dive in the North of Bonaire. While the 'leap' is cool to do I do not recommend it because it can be hard on your regulators hitting the water from 10feet above. My back up regulator started malfunctioning as soon as I hit the water and leaked during the whole dive resulting in a shorter dive than planned. I got it fixed at the shop so I could dive again the next day but if I had walked down the ladder instead of jumping this would not have happened. Nice dive spot with lots of croal and critters. Got its name from the fact that the site was a proposed spot for an oil terminal and that you can enter the water by making a giant stride entry. If you are going to attempt the giant stride I recommend going out on the rocks that are just to the right of the platform. Put your fins on, shimmy to the edge and enter in that way.
