Schoteroog (Spaarnwoude Park) — Attraction in Haarlem

These rolling hills with the view on a lake is probably everything there is to hate about Dutch landscape design. While the green of the hills contrast beautifully with the blue of the sky, the view on the lake is magnificent from the top and the setting sun washes the silhouettes of the hills with red when viewed from the lakeside, it is just tearjerkingly artificial. The lake, the hills, the bushes and the shrubs is all made and planted. If one simply shifts their sight from the lake to the other side of the hills it is an industrial area and a wall of windmills. Dit is een oude vuilnisbelt dat tot park is omgetoverd. Goed uitzicht op het grootste meer rond Haarlem: de Mooie Nel. Het wordt vaak gebruikt ook honden uit te laten maar er zijn overal afval plekken aanwezig. Er is een jachthaven met dezelfde naam en tegenwoordig ook een café-restaurant genaamd Loef.
