Used to be extremely good, kind of lost its magic. Last time I went some of the animals were in extremely bad shape especially the ice bears who even seemed to be suffering from a less severe form of zoochosis and they paced around the edge of the enclosure in circles, they were also quite dirty and skinny.
The birds were in good shape and I will say when I went the zoo was in some kind of grand renovation but the enclosures were dirty and unkept and whilst the birds were healthy and reacted appropriately I did sadly feel bad for a lot of the mammals.
Some examples when I first went they had good enclosures for the reptiles. Last time I went there were less smaller reptiles replaced with bigger reptiles in the same smaller enclosures, most of the animals were indoors and in smaller places. I only remember the giraffes having a good outside and indoor enclosure and the otters for the mammals.
I’m willing to give them another chance since this is already a little while ago but seeing how they are literally advertising with the Ill looking ice bears I wanted to leave this review. If you want to go to a good zoo in the Netherlands visit Wild lands where the animals are in proper enclosures for cold climate and jungle environment animals all year round and Savannah animals during the summer, also has more activities for children even during less active periods where less...

Read moreIts a fun place for both afults and kids! I did see a few animals being very bored though and doing things agains't boredom. Perhaps something could be done about that? And the snack bar next to the big yellow red jumping cushion it was a little trashy. Perhaps more trashcans could be placed there to avoid getting trash in the animals enclosures. For the rest, there was many cute animals, and the enclosures are quite big too. It's a fun environment with the foresty area. And you can get good food, and theres a souvenir shop too, where i bought a mermaid necklace with a clam with a pearl. I could take the pearl out, and put that in the pendant. Then i added my rose quartz pendant i bought earlier that week on the market. The color of my pearl represents love, and so does rose quartz. Photo is added below. For the rest, like i said, its very fun for kids, examples are the food, the jumping cushions, affordable souvenirs, animals itself ofcourse, and theres small parkours placed all over the zoo, through the foresty areas which is quite lovely. Theres also many rivers and such which was very fun and calming. I am sad i couldnt really see the seals, though. But yeah, it was quite lovely to go...
