Camping De Kleine Wielen — Hotel in Leeuwarden

We stayed at Kliene Wolf during the last two weeks in August having taken the ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland. Getting there by car was quite simple although the final junction in the locality confused me a bit, but we arrived safely.||||The campsite is immaculate. The receptionists were really helpful, the bar was great and they even had two ice cream shops, a snack bar, restaurant and a well stocked mini market. Our pitch was a good size and each area has its own small kids play area so you can sit down at your tent and keep an eye on the kids playing. We only ate at the snack bar and it was a bit like a good quality Chippy.||||The pool was fab, we hired a bike, played crazy golf,there was a full evenings entertainment programme and we found a mountain bike course which my son disappeared on.||||A few things you need to be mindful of. We were the only Brits on site so the kids struggled to make friends, although they did hook up with some other kids at some point. We didn't find this a great problem as our days were packed with bike rides, swimming and eating ice cream. Our pitch was on the edge of the site which a road runs behind. It is by no means a busy road, but being a rural area I was woken up a couple of times by what I can only guess was heavy farm machinery passing by. Requesting a pitch further from the road should sort this. Finally everything is in Dutch and German, but don't let this put you off, everyone was incredibly friendly and spoke English.||||We have camped in many places, and the kids said it was the best campsite they had ever stayed on. we travelled to Leewarden to participate in the event of the biggest crochet blanket for charity in the world. We were lodged at this camp and we found it to be a very good and relaxing stay. The camping site offers various facilities and it has various sites tom choose from where to lodge, camps, various sizes of huts and small houses and also located near the canals or lakes or much more inland. the site offers a very good restaurant and also a small grocery or utility shop, which although it has opening times the personnel of the camping site helps you most of the time of the day. the personnel there are very friendly and are always ready to help and makes you feel at home. if you want to visit Leeuwarden its very easy as there is a bus stop just a few metres away from the camp and in 25 minutes you are int eh centre of the city. if you have a caravan and want to stop for a few days or weeks or spend some days there, this is the...

Net thuis van een midweek safari tent, de tent zelf was mooi.. genoeg ruimte en alles wat we nodig hadden was er. (Bedden lagen vreselijk, maar dat was het dan ook) Helaas wilden de kinderen na 2 dagen graag naar huis, dit vanwege het slechte sanitair op de camping (veld Leeuwarden). Sanitair is schoon (2x daags) maar daar is ook alles mee gezegd helaas. Valt van gammele ellende allemaal uit elkaar. 1 douche voor dames en 1 voor heren, deze kon niet op slot. Wc’s konden dit ook slecht tot niet helaas. Douche was moeilijk te bedienen, werd vaak snel koud en of de knoppen vielen er vanaf tijdens gebruik. Als je boekt via de website, krijg je mooie plaatjes en teksten te zien.. dit van het restaurant met uitgebreide menu kaart.. overigens op avond 1 daar heen te eten, bleek alles te zijn, behalve wat er op de website staat. Kleine menukaart en meer dan de helft niet beschikbaar. (Pas dit aub aan!) Ook wordt er een mooi zandstrand beloofd waar we aan zouden staan, er liggen wat zandkorrels, maar vooral modder en gras. Dus alles behalve wat er verteld wordt. Dan onze grootste ergenis, de animatie! Niks geregeld vanuit de camping zelf.. vaste gasten probeerden er iets van te maken met af en toe een kleine activiteit. Echt waardeloos. Kinderen hebben zich stierlijk verveeld, terwijl op de site vermeld staat dat er van alles georganiseerd en gedaan wordt. Wat een grote en vooral dure domper was dit voor ons deze week. NOOIT MEER! We zijn super teleurgesteld in het beeld wat je leest en wat je dus daadwerkelijk krijgt bij aankomst. Helaas was er niemand die ons daar ter plekke te woord kon staan, behalve een vrijwilligster. Hopelijk wordt er toch contact met ons opgenomen om dit eens te bespreken, weggegooid geld en een weggegooide vakantie waar we erg naar uitkeken. Verdrietige...
