Really windy and super cold in March! We dressed up way too light and if you want to stay for more than 10 minutes, please take more clothes. Has a lot of parking places (a lot) and you need indicator of how long you’re planning to stay if you’re staying on parking nearby the cafe. Otherwise there’s parking for long stay (if you’re going to island for example). Worth to see if you’re nearby. Can be nice to go to island but pretty expensive (130 for two people and car). 🚗

Well-organised ferry pier. Plenty of parking spaces for those who are leaving their car on the main land, and it is also easy to take a bicycle in board. We booked tickets for the 13!30 ferry, but as we arrived in time for an earlier one, we could used our tickets without having to rebook. Nice outdoor seating on the tip deck and 2 indoor lounges where you can get snacks and drinks

In Holwert befinden sich Milchleitungen, welche die Milch der Bauern von Ameland nach Holwert transportieren.

This is not a tourists atttaction or a landmark whatsoever but the place has its own charme. It feels outwordly with the shallow water and the gigantic statues facing the sea, the long strip of road leading to the harbour, and the efficient...
