Park at Arashi. Start walking the coast to the Westpunt Beach area licated near the Sasarawichi Dunes sign (end of the dirt road). Then, you can return by crossing the dunes to the lighthouse and walk the street back to the car. We saw a trail behind the restaurant at the lighthouse that starts with steps to get back to Arashi quicker but we didn't investigate it. Take drinking water (also a food truck at lighthouse with water). Westpunt Beach is a secluded beach without parking or facilities but it's worth it. You can see the trail on GPS that ends at the Westpunt Beach but I have also seen it it mapped as a loop trail that continues around the Northern coast and then crosses east to west from the coast (hot hike though) below the lighthouse. Sometimes a UTV or car enters the dirt road trail to get closer to the beach but if you can, hike it. Motorized vehicles are discouraged since you can't ride them on the dunes. Be careful this is considered windward on the upper Northwest. However, this beach is similar to Conchi with surrounding rocks. Wespunt is safe to enter for wading. exploration, and great pictures (pink sand at the shoreline). I wouldn't recommend to adventure the area with small children. On your way, you will see Boca Westpunt which is a cave jutting out onto the ocean (just for viewing). At high tide it would be cool to see the waves hit it. There is a 100 year old memorial plaque for someone...
Read moreDiscovering this spot was like walking into a secret garden. The path from the road felt like a gateway to another world – one that might have been a bit eerie at night, but by day, it was an adventurer's delight. The chorus of birds, the sight of cacti standing tall, and the untouched beauty of nature all around made for a serene escape. I arrived at 7:30 am to find I had the tranquility all to myself, a rare luxury. If you're seeking peace and a touch of wild Aruba, this is where...
Read moreGreat walking area in the morning or on a cloudy day, fairly strong breeze to keep you cool. This area was very interesting on Aruba, not our favorite place but still beautiful and nice to be in nature. There is lots of parking nearby the sanddunes as well and tons of areas to walk around. The trail is quite long, longer than we expected so we didn't see everything. There are also a good amount...
