Nice museum for a quick visit. Information is in English and Dutch. It can be seen in about 30 min - 1h depending if you read everything and watch every video.

You can get weight and get a certificate that you’re not a witch. There’s a toilet and a small shop.

The general admission per adult is 7.50, although if you have the museum card the entrance it’s free.

The scales to get weight are on the ground floor, but videos and further information are on the first floor. I did not see an elevator.

The website of the museum offers reservation and we did reserve, but people were not being asked for it. So maybe reserve to be sure for a spot in case...

De Heksenwaag Museum is a fascinating place to learn about the history of witch trials. The museum is small but full of interesting information and artifacts. The original weighing scale, once used to determine if someone was a witch, is a unique part of history. You can even get yourself weighted and receive a certificate that you are not a witch (if lucky😉). It’s a great stop for anyone curious about local history or the darker side of the past. A must-visit if you’re...

A teeny-tiny museum with the original witches' weighing scale. The museum portion upstairs gives a good overview of the history in multiple languages. Being weighed and receiving a certificate that confirms you are not a witch (assuming that is the case!) is included in the price. Opening days and times vary throughout the year so do check the website...

Loved the whole experience wonderful village beautiful scenery and tourism, particular merit must go to the museum of witchcraft delving into the history of Hollands treatment of anyone not fitting the norm, with it's muted warning of how society can become bigoted and cruel when misled by those in power🤔❤️🇳🇱
