I believe it is one very amazing place to go plane spotting and also to see a couple of Jumbos taking off and going in to land and there is now a cycle track running along Puhinui Road in Puhinui that goes all the way out to the scenic lookout Air Runway so I have really always biked out there as it is a carpark for people and their families and kids to go out plane spotting and to see a couple of big ones going in to land, and have only been going out there with my Renaissance Disability Group Support Worker and meeting them out there just to see plenty of action in Air Traffic and if we have data on our phone we can go online to Auckland Airport to see where abouts in the world the planes are coming from or in domestic to see where abouts in the country the smaller Air New Zealand or Jetstar planes are coming from, and it's also got a great view across the Manukau Harbour and I certainly believe that it is by far one very interesting place and it is a good way to hang about and watch planes taxiing to the Runway and taking off to other destinations domestic or international and a great place to see plenty of aircraft...

Go there it's nice and cool. I meet different nationalities up there, I absolutely 💖 it 😅. Tz about a 20 minute drv for me , depending on th traffic 🚘 🚚 🚲 a n d; it's evn better at night 🌜I go there a lot. It's gr8 to get away frm the sounds of ambulanc'es n helicopter's. There are two lookouts, although most people focus on the runway (obviously) but have a peek behind the semi circular seats on the northern side of the lookout (left hand side as you drive in) - there's another equally impressive view too.
The estuary and farmland.
The lookout car park consists of two separate unconnected levels. One doesn't lead to the other which can make for some confused drivers!
If you want to blow some cobwebs away this is a great place to do that as it's exposed to the winds...
