Avonhead Park — Attraction in Christchurch

Great sized park with a footpath that goes right around the field. There is also a soccer club there I believe. They often run training sessions through out weeknights and games during both week and weekends so fields are often occupied for that reason but can use the fields if free. Their is also a softball pitch for softball season. This park has a spacious car park and also provides public toilets. Also has a half basketball court and free tennis court. Avonhead cemetery is right alongside the park. There is also a kindergarten right by the park. There is no playground here. Many people come here to exercise and walk their dogs off and on a leash. Great place for your dog or dogs. Myself, I use Burnside Park and Avonhead Park to walk my dog Cooper. You must have them in controlled. If not on the leash. People Hve bikes there are Runners and walkers and Children there is no playground there are toilets, great for Sport people it's a good mile to go round. Great place to have a walk, play or walk your dog! Huge park where you can do your daily walk or run, physical activity and dog walking. Everyday a lot of people come here and enjoy their time. In sunny weekend, people also play football and rugby. There is a beautiful memorial in their just beside the graveyard. It also has a pre school close by.
