We went for a family lunch to Desert Heart Winery. The shared platter was delicious but even more delicious was the Reserve Pinot Noir. I’d not heard of Desert Heart before today but can highly recommend the red and Chardonnay. The restaurant. Is a small hidden gem looking into the valley with a glorious outlook over river and vineyards and features Harper their labrador kelpie cross who made us feel very welcome. You should check this place out if in Bannockburn or close by. We stopped at Mt Difficulty winery on the way home for a tasting. Read moreFantastic discovery on Felton Road! We were happy to sit and taste a range of their wines with the owner, Denny. They have a unique setting by the river, down a long dusty driveway so it is a nice surprise when you are greated by nice people and it's also very quiet. Their Pinot 2007, 2012 and 2013 was some of the nicest I have had whilst in the region. The platters were great too and too be honnest we could have stayed their all day....
