Alpacas and alpine views - accommodation with a difference!!! Set in an amazing location surrounded by snow capped mountains, this property was an absolute treat to stay in. Our host Jessie was friendly and generous with her time and we enjoyed getting to know her and meeting all the alpacas on the farm - feeding time was especially fun! The Wild Wool Gallery is also on site where you can buy beautiful alpaca products made with love by Jessie. The accommodation was spacious enough for two people - cosy, comfortable and modern. Extremely well equipped kitchen - we were able to cook meals every night, which was helpful considering there are not many dining options in Manapouri. Warm, comfortable beds including a rollaway which is handy if you dont want to share the main bed or if you are travelling with a child. Free wi-fi was fast and reliable and the onsite laundry with washer and dryer was very handy as we had been travelling for over a week! We LOVED coming home to the spa each evening after venturing out on chilly winter days! Watching the sunset over the mountains with a glass of wine in hand was magical. The property is no more than a 5 mins drive down to the lakefront and about 20-30 mins drive into Te Anau. It's a great base for exploring Fiordland - Doubtful Sound is a MUST do when in the area. If you are looking for accommodation with a difference, then look no further. Would definitely stay again if ever...

We stayed at Jesse's cottage towards the end of our month long trip in New Zealand. The place was just breath taking. The views The Gardens and of course the accommodation ~ all fabulous. You wanted for nothing and Jesse was such an entertaining and endearing host. Before we really settled into our lovely cottage we ventured forth into her little shop where the labours of her love were on display. From her beloved Alpaca's were various shawls, scarfs etc all artistically woven from their wool. I'm afraid I couldn't resist and treat myself to a beautiful shrug which I was kindly informed had been made from the wool of 'James Bond' a rather dashing handsome example of his breed. Later on I was to meet this kind and giving creature face to face when we got the chance to feed him and his friends at tea time. What a lovely experience and what a beautiful spot to spend an...

I had such a lovely time here at Kepler Mountain View Alpacas! Ray led my friend and I on a farm tour, in which we got to meet and feed baby and teen alpacas, pregnant mothers, and even met a very cute farm cat. Ray was extremely knowledgeable and was more than willing to answer my millions of questions. The tour was supposed to be an hour, but I was having such a good time that it ended up taking an hour and a half, and Ray didn’t even rush me! The Wild Wool Gallery on the premises also had such cute items, I highly recommend checking it out. Visiting this farm was definitely one of my favorite experiences here in New Zealand, I’ll forever remember this experience!

A short 20-min drive from Te Anau town centre, the Kepler Mountain View Alpaca Farm is a must do for all who love animals. Ray and Jessie are the lovely owners of the farm and Ray hosted our tour with much expertise and passion about alpacas. We enjoyed the tour tremendously, learning more about the alpacas and hand feeding them. Please make sure to visit the shop, Wild Wool Gallery, thereafter. Jessie's handmade Alpaca wool items are great souvenirs and there are also other NZ/Alpaca souvenirs available at reasonable prices. More people need to be aware of this farm as it's easily assessible and both Ray and Jessie are such friendly hosts who deserve our support!

My husband and I did the meet, greet, and feed experience today with Ray. It was one of the top five most joyful experiences in my life. You get to interact with the alpacas, learn how to pet the alpacas, learn all about them, meet their babies, meet the teenagers, feed the adult alpacas (some will eat from your hand!!). I sat down on the ground to hang out with the teenagers, and bonded with Brutus, a one month old blond alpaca. He took selfies on my phone with his nose (see photos!). I cannot stress enough: this is a must-visit. It was a magical experience that I will treasure forever.
