Alpacas and alpine views - accommodation with a difference!!! Set in an amazing location surrounded by snow capped mountains, this property was an absolute treat to stay in. Our host Jessie was friendly and generous with her time and we enjoyed getting to know her and meeting all the alpacas on the farm - feeding time was especially fun! The Wild Wool Gallery is also on site where you can buy beautiful alpaca products made with love by Jessie. The accommodation was spacious enough for two people - cosy, comfortable and modern. Extremely well equipped kitchen - we were able to cook meals every night, which was helpful considering there are not many dining options in Manapouri. Warm, comfortable beds including a rollaway which is handy if you dont want to share the main bed or if you are travelling with a child. Free wi-fi was fast and reliable and the onsite laundry with washer and dryer was very handy as we had been travelling for over a week! We LOVED coming home to the spa each evening after venturing out on chilly winter days! Watching the sunset over the mountains with a glass of wine in hand was magical. The property is no more than a 5 mins drive down to the lakefront and about 20-30 mins drive into Te Anau. It's a great base for exploring Fiordland - Doubtful Sound is a MUST do when in the area. If you are looking for accommodation with a difference, then look no further. Would definitely stay again if ever...

Read moreWe stayed at Jesse's cottage towards the end of our month long trip in New Zealand. The place was just breath taking. The views The Gardens and of course the accommodation ~ all fabulous. You wanted for nothing and Jesse was such an entertaining and endearing host. Before we really settled into our lovely cottage we ventured forth into her little shop where the labours of her love were on display. From her beloved Alpaca's were various shawls, scarfs etc all artistically woven from their wool. I'm afraid I couldn't resist and treat myself to a beautiful shrug which I was kindly informed had been made from the wool of 'James Bond' a rather dashing handsome example of his breed. Later on I was to meet this kind and giving creature face to face when we got the chance to feed him and his friends at tea time. What a lovely experience and what a beautiful spot to spend an...
