The East Cape Lighthouse offers a breathtaking experience, perched atop dramatic cliffs overlooking the endless expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Its remote location adds to the allure, providing a sense of seclusion and tranquility that's hard to find elsewhere.

Visitors are greeted by sweeping panoramic views from the lighthouse's observation deck, making it a prime spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts alike. The rugged coastline, with its jagged rocks and crashing waves, creates a stunning backdrop for any adventure.

The lighthouse itself is a piece of history, standing tall as a beacon of maritime navigation since its construction in [year]. While it may lack some modern amenities, such as Wi-Fi or fancy accommodations, its rustic charm is part of its appeal. Spending a night in one of the nearby cottages allows you to fully immerse yourself in the coastal experience, complete with the soothing sounds of the ocean lulling you to sleep.

Exploring the surrounding area reveals a treasure trove of natural wonders, from hidden coves to pristine beaches. Hiking trails wind their way through lush forests, offering glimpses of native flora and fauna along the way.

However, potential visitors should be aware that reaching the East Cape Lighthouse requires some effort. The journey involves navigating winding roads and possibly even hiking a portion of the way, depending on access restrictions. But for those willing to make the trek, the reward is well worth it.

In conclusion, the East Cape Lighthouse is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking adventure and natural beauty. Its remote location, stunning vistas, and rich history combine to create an unforgettable experience that will linger in your memories long after you've left its...

Mesmerising experience definitely once in a lifetime must visit for nature lovers throughout the world to see this place which is blessed by Mother Nature to offer first sunrise to this world 365 days in a year.

Only challenging part is to find suitable accomodation nearby as the nearest town is 20kms and nearest accomodation would be in a range of 20 to 40 kms I reckon such as Airbnb/motel/ lodge etc.

The other aspect to be mindful around is privacy while this Lighthouse seems to be open to public 24/7.

However the entrance is through private property driveway so needing to be mindful while passing by to maintain calm and quite composure to not affect privacy of home owners and their pets such as Horses, dog etc.

Lastly Wondered after visiting here today that what would this world look like if suddenly we stop seeing this place witnessing any sunrises in future being the easternmost part of NZ. All I can would be an incomplete sunrise without this place in my opinion.

It’s a one of the hidden Jewel of NewZealand for sure with different scenic beauty it has to...

Fantastic trip to the lighthouse. We were insistent on going there for dawn to the world's first mainland sunrise.

The road is about 20km long from Te Araroa, and it's 80% gravel. Much of it is fine at low speed for most cars, but the last few kilometers is ridiculously bad, and in our brand new VW, it was crawling at 5 kmh. In total. the drive from Te Araroa took about 60 mins, and we were doing 80-100kmh on the sealed sections and 10-20kmh on the gravel sections.

I'm giving this information because we couldn't find it online as some people said the road was ridiculous and other said the road was perfect.

THe walk up to the top is fairly laborious, but reasonable quality. The lookout at the top has spectacular views, and it has a direct view of the sun on the horizon during sunrise.

So if you have the time, the weather, and the will to wake up at 4 am, the sunrise is so worth it. I got some great photos. A pity Google lowers...

To see the eastern lighthouse in the world you need to deal with the eastern and cuntiest farmer in the world. When you're up on the hill watching the sunrise he will go to the parking and punch your tyre, when you come back he will start yelling to you, insult and approach for a fight. Why? Because the only way to go to the lighthouse is passing his property, and yes, you're allowed to do it and there is a sign from NZ Maritime explaining that. I had to drive kilometres and kilometres with a punch tyre and on a terrible road with the fear of having a crazy farmer following me. But yeah, first sunrise of the world is beautiful :)
