East Cape — Local services in Gisborne

Just beautiful place. Though u have to drive a bit to get there. Plan a bit of time. Driving and (if u want to see it) climbing the lighthouse takes roughly 1,5 hours starting from the "exit" from the 35. It's just worth it as not that many people do it. I was on my own getting up the mountain. It says 25 minutes climb time. I needed 10 but were sweating arriving up there. It's a calm and peaceful place with a fantastic view. My family and I were so excited to visit this place since my dad was had been to it before and wanted to show it to us, however we drove up to it and found the access was closed. My brother had to look it up and found out it was closed for safety reasons which is good. We just wish there had been a sign before the 30 minute drive saying that it was closed. Not everyone looks up...
