Till’s Lookout — Attraction in Hamilton

We drove from Auckland as a "halfway point" for a family picnic based on google photos and reviews. It was NOTHING like what we expected. This is a small park in the middle of "suburbia" with absolutely no fenced area for "off leash" play despite signposts stating otherwise. To have a picnic, you are almost literally in someone's front yard. After walking up the path where, to be fair, had a nice view, we found NO facilities, a park bench, and very little else. We left and went a few kilometres away to a much better place. Its potentially a nice walk but certainly not...

Nice place, lovely views...but the leash free dog area doesn't seem to actually exist. There is a sign, showing were it supposedly is, but it makes no sense. So I'd give 5 stars based on a nice place to walk, but zero if you're looking for somewhere to take your dog for a run!! Hence...

This is a great place to look out over the city and surrounding area. If you continue heading south down the path, you'll reach Taitua Arboretum in about a kilometer. It's a pretty nice walk there, although the path does turn to gravel...
