Update on our return visit in Dec 24 now based on a Dad, Uncle, Aunty, 9yo Cousin and 5yo boy this visit we pitched our shelter from Kathmandu and brought some festival chairs to relax on. Packed a picnic with loads of yummy HB fruit, cheeses, Sammie’s, cold drinks etc. we spent nothing but entry fee and made the most of an entire day at the water park. Suggest getting a spot as you enter the park and to the left of the volleyball court/shaded picnic area. We set up camp in front of the lazy river and had great access to the hot pool, toddler pool, noddy town, food if it was required and toilets. Tip this time, the pre payed line to go in was significantly longer than the pay on the day line. Next time we go we will be paying on the day to skip the queue a little. Although might pay to check the night before tickets aren’t selling out. Another enjoyable experience. Jan 24 Based on the experience of a Dad, Uncle and 4yo boy. We arrived shortly after opening on the day after New Years and waited barely 10 mins in line. Kaitiaki very friendly and directive to sort the hoards of us in line. As we headed in, sun tents/marquees were being pitched by family’s with obvious previous experience in this place (something I would consider in the future for my family to claim a patch of land for the day and to have a “base” for shade and a decent picnic opportunity). Waits in line were relatively short. The blow up donuts could be more in supply for the lazy river ride but with a bit of patience we received one from a friendly person. The toddler themed water play area was an absolute hit for our wee mister 4. Who spent a large portion of his time in this area. We also rode the train 3 times, lazy river, used the tall slide on the shared double tubes, tiny town, mini golf, merry go round and hot indoor pools. What I really like about the experience was that the one fee paid for all the rides. 25 years ago (when it was Fantasyland, you’d be paying for each individual ride making it costly). We hired an all day locker for $10 which helped with all our possessions (two large bags, 3 towels, jandal/sandals). Lunch was awesome! Splash Burger combos for the adults and chicken nuggets/chips for Mister 4. Plenty of food supplied, and yummy bbq sauce at reasonable prices for a theme park. A brilliant day out at Splash Planet.

Our family traveled over from Gisborne. First time here with the kids and the park was actually amazing. Kids thoroughly enjoyed their time here. Lots of pools for everyone to enjoy. Lines weren't too long even though it was Xmas eve so I'd say pretty busy. Plenty of room on the grass to park up with a picnic which you could tell there were some very experienced locals that had quite a good setup with Marquees and BBQ etc. Definitely would encourage people to take their own lunch or pop down the road as we did try the Hotdog from the shop there and it was terribly disappointing. The bread was stale, Lack of sauce and overall just not good at all so threw $6.50 of our money in the garbage. The train ride was super fun for everyone. Great way to see the park and where everything is so would recommend heading that way first after a quick dip to cool down. The inside pool was packed and very poorly lit in there so felt very dark and a tad creepy miss 11 said. We steered clear and stuck too the outdoor pools. There are toilets to your left as soon as you enter the park but the changing rooms are across the volleyball area which is quite a hike when you first get in with excited kids and a million bags to carry so would be a tad easier if they were closer as the kids just wanted to make a mad dash and ditch me. Prices are great and Definitely in our opinion worth it. Would happily spend that to get into this place. Overall great place to spend the day with your kids of all ages. Will definitely be returning throughout summer.

Splash planet was fun although it was a cold and very windy day which made the outdoor pool like swimming in the Antarctic🥶 and had to keep going to the inside pool to get warm which was only Luke warm and packed because everyone was doing the same🤣 On the up side of the weather being cold it wasnt that packed so there were no lines for any of the rides that we went on. We ate from the food store right outside the indoor pools, We had the splash basket for $12 which had 2 mini hotdogs, fish bites, chips, onion rings and squid rings which I thought was really good for the price. And also 2 cheese burgers which were simple but very delicious. I brought our tickets online which was a fast entry into the place instead of having to line up. We also got a locker for the day for $10 which was so handy. It fit 2 back packs and we squeezed 2 pairs of adult shoes in it while swimming. Like when I say squeezed I mean we had to push the door shut🤷♀️ But it worked. We got there bang on opening and did all the rides and activities first before swimming in case it got busy later on. Recommend you do that. And last but not least. The Kaitiaki walking around the grounds, the staff in the cafe, the food stall, the rides, the gift shop on exiting were just awesome awesome awesome. Nothing was a bother, and so happy to show and help us find our way around the place. And love that they spoke Te reo even if it was just a Kia Ora whanau. Felt so welcoming. Thank you guys so much. Whanau who come from Tauranga for a swim😁👊🙌👏

On January 3rd, 2025, I visited for the second time, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment my family and I arrived, we knew this place was special. It offered far more fun and excitement compared to other places I’ve visited in Auckland. Splash Planet is hands down one of the best places to go if you’re planning a holiday in Hastings—it truly offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking for thrilling water rides or relaxing poolside moments, this park has it all, making it a must-visit destination.I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Hastings—definitely add it to your bucket list! The atmosphere, the rides, and the friendly staff all make it an experience that stands out. Thanks again for the wonderful time. Even though we didn’t get there until 11 a.m., it’s definitely worth getting there early to enjoy all the rides without any rush. For anyone considering the best time to go, the earlier, the better! I also hope Splash Planet will consider staying open later in the future, perhaps until 8 p.m., so families can have even more time to enjoy everything the park has to offer. It's truly the highlight of any trip to Hastings. Thanks again, Splash Planet Hastings, for making our holiday so special!!!😁🙋♂️

A perfect place for any family to spend the whole day from 10 am - 5 pm. Entry charges for adults is $45 each (for all rides), and there is lower charges for kids. We had a three year old with us, and it was absolutely free for him. There are around 25 odd activities inside, but contrary to it's name, a lot of those activities are dry ones, such as jungle safari ride, train ride, formula fun (go karting), children's playgrounds , mini golf etc. Among the water activities, the lazy river is probably the best one, and well suited for all ages. There are five slides available, but min. height should be 120 cm; and yes, they check the heights as well :-) Water was fairly clean, but relatively cold (I wish it would have been warmer). However in that case, you can enjoy the indoor pool, which is well heated to around 37-39 degrees. The lifeguards were on duty everywhere in the premises, and they were very diligent, which is good. Lockers are available at $10. There are plenty of options available inside for food and beverage, mostly in the form of food trucks. Parking is available in abundance, and additional street parking is also available.

Visited between Christmas & New Years on a weekend during a hot period. Let’s just say it was busy (3,000 people, max capacity). Waited 1hr 15mins (!) to get in the door, 20-25mins for a coffee, and almost 45mins for some hot chips. However, the park is beautiful (recent renovations have it sparkling), the 4 or so slides are exciting for young & old, the main water area is great layout for kids, and the other attractions (jeep rides, mini golf, etc) really add to the fun. It’s a wonderful park. Kids absolutely love it. Take as many chairs / blankets / chilly bins full of food as you can manage (no glass though) and make a day of it. Gave it 4 stars because of their inability to handle the busy period (their entry process shouldn’t take so long for pre-booked tickets and there was a serious muck-up with the food) but if you pick your day carefully (seriously avoid the absolute peak days) you should have a 5-star day. :)
