We had an absolute blast. It is such a lovely, well kept and family friendly space. We went without knowing much about it and find that there is little knowledge about the park(s) for people that aren't local. Although we packed a lunch box for our toddler, we weren't aware that there would be no on-site food available. We had to cut the day short to go grab something to eat. We also couldn't find any water fountain (just a side note), but likely we packed enough. We would definitely visit again. Next time with a big picnic, as there is lots of space to spread out. Will also like to take on the trail route for a jog. Lots of people with cycles around, but the mix of cyclists, runners and family walkers seem to get around without issues. Our kiddo (and I) couldn't get enough of the animals and given that we went early spring, there were lots of babies around to pet and play with.

“Ambury Adventures: Where the Sheep Roam Free” Visited Ambury Regional Park on a cool breezy day, peaceful, open, and full of friendly (and slightly judgy) sheep. The walking trails are flat and easy, perfect for a calm stroll with green views, farm animals, and that “getaway without leaving the city” kind of vibe. Great spot to bring a picnic, clear your mind, or accidentally photobomb a sheep. Parking was easy, toilets were clean, and the air? Fresh enough to bottle. “Logan was here… making friends with sheep and silence.” 🐑🌬️

Such a great place. Best to go in the morning when animals are out. My little one enjoyed it a lot. Good facilities and easy to access. Car park can be difficult when busy but plenty of parking in paddock area. Great place to have a picnic as well. Can be windy as near water so bring wind breaker.

Love this place! 😻 It's a park reserve, sports field area, nature walking/and cycling treks everywhere, A fully functioning farm and also a bird sanctuary aswell. But if that's not enough...

It also has campgrounds facilities for tents/vehicles/Rv's/Motorhomes alike.

A Big Five Stars 🤩!!! for all the Rangers, and there daily presence, availability and excellent helpful service. Or even just to stop with you to and have a wee chat with you about the general day, weather or your stay with them. ☺️

Very happy atmosphere, with farm animals everywhere. They have all been hand reared, so very children and adult friendly, giving you the rarest opportunity to pat and interact with all the animals onsite - except the huge pigs and the bulls they have their. 🤣🤣 Clydesdale Horses, Chickens, Turkeys, Sheep, Cows, Goats, Pigs, Peacocks, Roosters, Pokeko's, Rangers dogs and Sheep herders, Wildlife New Zealand and Endangered - Regional and Seasonal Birds all accommodate the area and surroundings of this 210 acre Auckland City Council owner/operated park. A small fee is required if choose to stay at the camping grounds - which is payable online at www.aucklandcitycouncil.co.nz though everything else that makes this place so amazing is absolutely free! Spend the day here with the family have a hot lunch, with free bbq area's and picnic tables everywhere to accommodate large families gatherings or small. There are also. Classroom sized rooms for venue hirages (for your next birthday party or wedding and reception, yoga class etc.) with bonus hirages available such as bicycles, kayaks, sports equipment - volleyball, soccer. Bouncy Castles - for that added extra on you child's birthday s marquees and/or Gazebos to allow coverage for food or seating areas during your venues party function. Main Gates are opened from 6am daily, and closed for the evenings. depending on the time and seasons of the year - Daylight Savings 6am - 7pm Non-Daylight Savings 6am - 9pm. Location on the outskirts coastline of Managere Bridge area, this place is an extremely rare find for Aucklanders and foreigners alike. So come on over, at feeding times and help to feed the animals, watch a sheep get Shawn possibly or watch a cow get milked. And meet the whole animal family which reside here. Then head back to the park area to cook a family lunch, the children can run around with all the ducks and peacocks, play ball or ride their scooter or bikes. Then finish the day on the foreshore walk or cycling trek, or take your boat out for a fish. There's heaps to see and do at Ambury Regional Park everyday is never the same as the last. For ongoing events up coming activities and any bookings go online to https://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/parks-recreation/stay-at-park/Pages/accommodation-details.aspx?itemID=1

Or to speak directly to the rangers onsite call...

Very nice family friendly park, good and clean facilities and a great place to stop and rest for a couple hours if you're traveling down from the north towards the airport (also avoid some traffic jams by using the inner roads between the park and the airport too, bypass the motorway). There are toilets, water fountain, picnic benches and enough car park space. There are several entrances to the park, make sure to point your GPS to "Ambury Rd" and drive to the end of that road to find the main entrance. There are plenty of farm animals to keep the kids (and adults) entertained, a nice view of Mangere mountain, and a short walk to the shore. Keep close to the car park area and gravel trails during rainy days as it can get a bit muddy when wet. The place is well maintained and relatively clean, so no need to worry about stepping on poo especially around the main car park and barn areas. There are also regular shows on sheep wool shearing - refer to park info for the showtimes. A little further down the the gravel trail on the south/west is a long walk towards some swamp and rehab areas, and a short drive away are the historic...

We came here not knowing what to expect. It was difficult to find any information about it online (access, animals, parking, etc). We weren’t sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised with the experience! (It is not quite like a petting farm/zoo)

But, the park is quite easy to get to and easy to find. There is a camping site located near it (so there was lots of people around, which was easy to know where to go). Parking was available on the field, which was convenient.

We went on a Sunday in the summer, so not sure what activities are available other days of the week/times of the year. Once you make your way through the main entrance, it’s feee roaming from there. There were a few pigs, sheep (very friendly!), goats, and rabbits.

The park is quite vast so bring comfortable walking shoes, and enjoy the scenery. Worth a visit if you’re around, although the availability of the...
