I can’t rave about this holiday park enough. Absolutely loved our 2 nights camping here in our small van. We were booked and paid elsewhere but it was an appalling place so we left. Luckily for us, when I phoned Cable Bay, I was told there had just been a cancellation so there was availability. I honestly didn’t know what to expect but when my son and I arrived, we were both thrilled. The setting is so serene and beautiful; in amongst hills and farmland, it’s green and peaceful. The owners are lovely and helpful and made us very welcome. The facilities are good and freshly painted. The kitchen is fully equipped and homely. Our site was in the front area which is well set up in a loop and we later discovered that there are further areas behind so whilst it feels nice and small, there is plenty of space. There’s a wonderful beach and walk just a few minutes away. The views from the hills are incredible. Although there’s no phone service, the wifi was reliable but unless you have work to do, you won’t want to be bothering with the internet when you’re in this beautiful place. I have recommended this to many people already and most certainly want to...

Bert ( short for Roberta) is an amazing camp mother, navigating so many different people and their requests. The camp is fabulously clean and the flowers in the bathrooms give the place a homely feel. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped and because it is spotless, I felt very responsible to maintain the place in the same high standard.|We had a cabin which was very comfortable and very close to both the bathroom and the kitchen.|The swimming is wonderful even at low tide, safe with very little undertow but the stony beach makes walking barefoot slightly more difficult.|There is a lovely rural walk which gives a rewarding view of the beach and adjacent estuary ( the lookout was not possible to reach as there was logging of pine trees at the nearby native bush).|Bert and Matt are the most impressive managers I have ever met, friendly, straightforward and upbeat.|( I’m almost too wary to share this paradise of a place...

Stayed here for 5 nights and absolutely loved it. Bert and Matt were so welcoming and helpful from the minute we got there, with recommendations for local walks and a genuine interest in to our day. The campsite allocated was spacious, quiet and comfy. The rest of the facilities were fantastic and so clean. The kitchen is filled with utensils and plenty of space in the 3 fridges! The small touches like bean bags outside and tennis courts with free hire, was an awesome touch.

The location is just fantastic. With a 1 minute walk to a beautiful beach and a short but steep walk up to cable bay walkway rewards you with great views.

We highly recommend visiting here and will definitely be coming back!! Thank you!

Note: there is a very cute but cheeky chicken named Henrietta, who...
