This is my first time writing a review. But I cannot explain how disappointed I am! I came to Paeroe from Auckland to spend a day with my family ( my husband & our new born baby, who is 2 month old). I came to visit this farm . When I came to the reception I saw a note that one zone of the park is not pram friendly. But that was the place where we wanted to go at the first place. We decided not to visit the site, but it was time to feed my baby, as he woke up. So I told My husband that he can have his lunch while I feed my boy( it was a picnic area outside) . The lady from the farm came & told me that we have to pay $18 each to stay here. ( we were shocked, as we didn’t even enter the park). Then she asked us to leave the site with a crying baby on hand. I have been living in New Zealand for the last 12 years, I never been treated this way. This family business is not friendly & i will never go back. Copy of this letter will be send to City council & New...
Read moreHaven't been here for years and wasn't expecting much so was really impressed! Took a 6, 8 and 14 year old who were all thoroughly engaged as was my aged, crumbly mother. A wonderful hands on experience with a large variety of animals. Friendly staff and good information. The play areas are exceptional. Giant snakes and ladders, a rocket ship complete with control panel and Houston base control, zip line racing car, push carts, bike trail (with bikes and helmets) zipline aeroplanes that "crop dusts" sheep pellets, the best ride on trucks, helicopter, carts ever (according to kids). Theres even a hunting hut, which honestly I want a big fan of, but the kids loved it and it had some great gun safety tips so an educational experience. Will definitely be back. Have been held back in the past by the price, but well worth it. I love that picnic areas are provided so bringing your own lunch is easy. Thanks for...
Read moreA lovely historical, hidden treasure! I appreciated the signs giving a bit of direction on the way up to the farm as it is quite a road up to you guys! I loved the relaxed feel to the park as you are able to walk freely and walk to and from animals throughout the day. Lots of fun hand made games and activity areas for kids that they all seemed to really enjoy. Most picnic areas are shaded and that was great! The forest walk was lovely to cool down after being out in the nz sun!
I was surprised they didn't have a cafe when I first arrived but they do stock drinks and ice creams and I understand a cafe wouldn't work at bullswool farm. It would ruin the real working farm feel. Definitely bring a picnic as it is a perfect place to have one! All and all a great place to visit for a day! Worth the travel...
