Lake Kaiiwi is a dune lake in the Northland Region of New Zealand. It is located to the northwest of Dargaville and is one of the three dune lakes collectively called Kai Iwi Lakes. The lake has no outflow, with only minor drain inflows in the south of the lake and from the larger Lake Taharoa.

Magical and sadly no longer hidden gem. Wonderful turquoise waters that stay shallow for a long way then steep drop off. So great for little children and adults wanting to swim. Great for water toys and sailing sadly many power boats and noisy annoying SeaDoo watercraft. Sadly this is only a rain fed lake system (no streams in or out) so motorized boats and peoples suncreams are over time polluting these lakes. More needs to be done now to protect this...

we had the best holiday, staying in the pine beach campground option was the best ever, office team really warm and friendly, night security guys the best, always happy and friendly, and also wanted to thank to the lady which clean the toilets at the campground, she did a hard work everyday to maintain those toilet clean, and she had all my respect. The lakes are amazing, clear, fresh and warmest water in NZ, wonderful place to...

Take that drive. Go to Dargaville. Follow signs to the lake. There's camping facilities onsite caravan cafe . coffee chips cold drinks etc. Fresh water so no to sharks jelly fish and the likes. Deep blue water in the middle and shallow white sands on the outer. Need to take a gazebo as its hot . we had our portable BBQ. Take plenty of sunscreen and hats. Very hot. Paradise in fact and in the middle...
