Great walk along the ridges to/from Mt. Kaukau. Very exposed and therefore windy when i hiked it. Great views to kaikoura mountains (on a clear day), the western wind turbines and the coast. Trail passes through forest, ridges and agricultural ground. I finished at Mt. Kaukau as ive previously done the northern walkway. Layer up for this and wear some windproof clothes -youll need it!
