Beautiful spot in all weather. Always fun to explore. South end of the beach is the sandiest, middle has the stream entrance where rare dotterels nest, and the northern end is very rocky and unique. It also has a track extending to the Otaki river mouth a few km’s north.

Beautiful sunsets and peaceful walks. Can see Mt Ruapehu and Taranaki Maunga on a clear sunset. Has a unique pink rock if you head left down the beach. Lots of driftwood.

Another excellent beach on Aotearoa's North Islands West Coast North of Wellington. Its very similar to Pekapeka but more remote and less people so a great location
