This is one of the best spot I have seen around the North Island. The Crown Mines has many ventures for different people, you can choose to walk to nearby spots where you can get into the dark cave (bring your torch or use your phone) and there is a window spot where you can look out from the top, or if you're more adventures, try walking into different path which I did not do because it does get scary if you're alone. If you're into hiking or biking, this is an excellent spot to be, about 7km long you can see the sights and sound of the wonderful nature NZ has to offer. This is a tourist spot which means it does get crowded, so get there early to make sure you have a...

If your geology or geography student or just like to explore the science then this is a place for you. This place has still preserved the Crown Mine (Gold & Quartz mine) which was operational in Early 1800. At that time it was one of the biggest gold producing mine in NZ. Beautiful place to go with your friends and family if they like to walk and...

Great walks through the tunnels and cliffs, stunning views of the entire area, colours are amazing through the minerals running down the rocks. Crystal clear waters, these were extremely arduous and only hard men could have mined and cut there way through leaving us a magnificent track to see the beauty of the gorge that cannot be appreciated just...

Fantastic experience! The scenery was astonishing and my kids loved it! The bridge was closed sadly, but at least we had a great time. If i were to renovate the place, i would add a few more signs for directions because there’s no maps for directions and we got lost. I would recommend for tourists passing by. Also, please go on a sunny day.
