The falls were really close to the carpark that we were in. You could see it from the start of the walk. There were a few people there but most of them just had a quick dip and then left since the water was a bit cold. The area around the falls wasn't very big but it did extent all the way around most of the pool. It was also a bit of fun walking downstream and jumping along the rocks. We saw a few eels swimming around the river and pool which was nice. The entrance was on 309 Road past Waterworks coming from Coromandel. Just keep an eye out for the entrance sign which might be covered by parked cars...

It is not an exceptional Waterfall. It is off 309 and a short scenic drive from Hahei. Half of the road is actually gravel so it can get very dusty. Look out for the small sign as you can miss it easily. It is just a short 2 mins walk down from the car park. You can swim in the pool or climb up the Waterfall for a picture. Just be careful when you climb as it is very slippery and it is not a proper path. You can also visit the Kauri walk just before/after the fall depends which direction you're driving from. You can see a few big...

Beautiful waterfall and swimming hole a two-minute stroll from Road 309! There is a sign marking the spot, as well as parking for a handful of cars. We were here on two consecutive days. The first day it had been rainy heavily, and the falls were out of their banks, ferocious, and a little scary in their speed and power. The next day, the falls was back to a more normal flow, with lovely clear water instead of the brown runoff from the day before. I was glad we had the opportunity to see it both days — it was beautiful...

Treacherous drive up the 309 road, be wary of skinny gravel road, steep drop offs and people speeding. Carparking is off the road, there is a short steep track from larger car park to the top of the waterfall but main entry is just at the small car park spot. 1 minute walk down to the base of the falls large swimming hole and nice spots to sit in the sun. Great place for a refreshing dip in the summer. Only lost a star because it was quite busy and there was a few bits of rubbish left behind.

Nice little falls and swimming spot if you don't mind sharing with a 40 cm long eel. The water is quite cold but it deter most people. The eel stayed away from the swimmers. Nice little spot. The road as you head towards Hot Water beach changes to winding narrow loose gravel 2 way road so expect to take a little longer travelling through.
