Views across the harbour take in Matiu/Somes Island, the central city in the distance and even the Kaikoura mountains in the far distance. The views also take in Seaview/Petone and Lower Hutt as well as Mt Kaukau in the distance. The views of the city and harbour at night are also worth checking out. Read moreAwesome, great view but exposed in bad weather. We love the view from the lookout, you can see the whole harbour from the heads, around Wellington to Petone, and up the Hutt valley. There's a couple of bench seats, great for nibbling a pie. Worth mentioning, the small car park can only be accessed driving from Wainuiomata to Lower Hutt, if you're traveling the other way you will have to use the roundabout on the Wainuiomata side to head back...
