Great for running and mountain biking around. However when it's wet, the rocks (that are exposed up on the top of the hills) are extremely slippery. Great views and definitely an awesome challenge. Recommend for people with a moderate level of fitness, however there are some gentle trails by the entrance of Waiu Street. The trails can take you from Wainui to Lower Hutt (via Te Whiti riser). Take your camera on a nice day, there are great views!!

One of the best in the Wellington region. offers the widest range of tracks for small children, family friendly tracks through to grade 5 technical rides. Stunning view from the top and outstanding down hills.. many to choose from.

A very big and fun park for mountain bike riders, walker and dogs. They have heaps different track from easy to advanced. After last night rain road still muddy and wet. Got a tap to drink and wash your bike.

Awesome selection of tracks for beginners through to experts, and a bit of a skills area at the start. Usually an awesome bunch of people up on the tracks (bumped into a few fools yesterday, but they were certainly an exception to the rule).

Seems to be bit of work going on with some of the tracks, which had turned into a bit of a mud pit, but am sure that'll be sorted come summer.

Easy access from the park to adjacent fire breaks and loads of other rides. Definitely...

Ive hiked through a few of the trails on this park - very pleasant place to hike, albeit the trails are supposed to be for mountain biking so i try to allow bikes right of way. V steep and slippery in places for hiking but still quiet and pleasant. Random benches interspersed through the park which is pleasant. Great views on the ECNZ track over to Wellington Harbour, Petone, Lower Hutt and...
