An awesome awesome experience if you are looking for some thrill and Adreline. I did the Kawarau Bridge Bungy which is commercially the oldest in the world, the Nevis Bay Bungy which is the highest in New Zealand (134 meters) and my partner and I both did the Zip ride at Kawarau Bridge. The entire team of AJ Hackett is simply awesome, they ensure that your check in process is absolutely smooth and you can just concentrate on your thrills. Also if your nervous or scared of heights they do not push you into doing it but rather give you a positive talk about why you should do it, which is very heartwarming when I saw one of the team members having a chat with a person who was scared of doing it. A special shout out to Ellie, Rosie, Tim & Charlie and many others who I can't remember the name of (apologies for that). Kawarau Bridge Bungy - this is one of the most scenic bungys I have done, with the Kawarau river flowing below you. If you fall between the right weight category you can even get dunked into the river water below, unfortunately I couldn't because I was light weight, you just need to check with your Bungy jump masters. After you do the first jump and are willing to do more you can even do other stunts like pendulum, Spartan (I did the Spartan which is where you stand backwards and they kick you lightly on the chest) and you fall backwards. Nevis Bungy (134 meters) - this one was superb as well, where it's the height that's thrilling and it's for the adventure junkies. Kawarau Zip Ride - Pretty fun, not scary at all, you go down the zip line and then come back again on the zip line which is super fun and you can do different stunts like forward, backwards, upside down, etc. Once again thank you and kudos to the entire team at AJ Hackett, from the time I did the booking abut 6 months back, they were extremely nice to reciprocate to all my emails and all my questions. Definately recommend to everyone and would definately do again and maybe try the Catapult and the swing next time. ♥️ Thank you team AJ Hackett.

This is the best place for bungy jumping. A place with scenic natural beauty. Greenish blue water of kuwarau river flowing through the rocky cliffs at both sides. Vivid colors of the autumn on the trees everywhere. Even it's your first time doing bungy jumping and there are butterflies in your stomach, you just indulge in the beauty of this place that you forget all just throw yourself from the bridge as if you are taking a leap of faith in the lap of mother nature. That's what happened when my 15 year son and 12 year daughter did it for the first time. As I was unhappy my wife didn't allow me but encouraged my children to do it. They thanked me for that afterwards as it was an experience of lifetime. The staff at A J Hackett bungy center is very encouraging and helpful. They weigh you first to decide what bungy cord to use for each of you. They get you fill the indemnity form from you , in my case from me as my children were minors. They tell you the do's and don'ts. On the bridge the instructors there fastens the bungy securely from your ankles to knees. And again instructs you how to jump. As to just let yourself off the platform easily, no pushing , no jump with force. There are lifeboats in the water underneath with lifeguards not just to pick you after the bungy but for your safety just in case of accident. We Double checked all this safety measures and then only allowed our children to do the bungy. They also have high definition cameras and give you the stunning photos and videos of your jump. And they also give you certificate saying " I did it " after you bungy jump. My children were very excited to get their certificates.Don't miss this place in queenstown. A great experience.👌🏼👍🏻

Exhilarating Experience at AJ Hackett Kawarau Bungy! I recently had the opportunity to experience the AJ Hackett Kawarau Bungy Jump in Queenstown, and it was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and professional, ensuring that everyone felt safe and informed throughout the process. The jump itself was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The adrenaline rush as I leaped from the historic Kawarau Bridge was indescribable. The stunning views of the Kawarau River added to the excitement and beauty of the jump. It's clear why this is known as the birthplace of commercial bungy jumping! What really stood out to me was the level of safety and the expertise of the crew. They were attentive, encouraging, and made sure every jumper had a great experience. Additionally, the entire facility was well-maintained, and the process from check-in to jump was seamless. I also appreciated the range of options available. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned jumper, there's something for everyone. And the option to touch the water was a fun addition! Overall, the AJ Hackett Kawarau Bungy Jump is a must-do for anyone visiting Queenstown. It’s not just about the thrill of bungy jumping - it’s about the professional, safe, and friendly environment that the AJ Hackett team provides. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking adventure in New Zealand!

Personally I haven’t tried it, just the thrill of jumping off that platform gives goosebumps, but watching someone else do it looks amusing. Credit to all the brave jumpers that have done it, they have no fear and limits. To get you jumping they do give you a slight nudge so you’re not holding up everyone up. Upon arrival you will walk down a spiral ramp internally until you reach the centre, which is on the same level as the viewing platform. Internally there’s a small cafeteria, ticketing counter if you decide walk-ins and merchandise. This activity is probably one of the most visited tourist places in Queenstown that offer an extreme activity and a beautiful scenery. The colour of the water is absolutely amazing and the bridge that suspends into the greenery is stunning. There’s a few viewing platforms to enjoy the bungee jumpers jump off this 43m bridge as well as the zipride. At Kawarau, the price cost $265 for each of the 3 types of jumps: 1. Bungy 2. Water touch 3. Tandem Zipride costs $40. Zip ride similar to flying fox but you’re upside down when going down the 130m line at 60km. It’s nowhere as extreme as bungee, but If bungee isn’t for you then zipride could be an option to enjoy while out in the area.

The Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge is a bridge which runs over the Kawarau River in the Otago region in the South Island of New Zealand. The bridge is mainly used for commercial purposes by the AJ Hackett Bungy Company for the purposes of bungy jumping; the site was the world's first commercial bungy jumping site. The bridge also forms part of the Queenstown Trail which allows walkers/runners and bikers to pass over the river. The bridge is inside a Department of Conservation reserve.[1 Location The bridge is between the start of the Crown Range Road and Gibbston within the Kawarau Gorge which is in the Wakatipu Basin. It is 43 metres (141 ft) above the Kawarau River. History The bridge was designed by Harry Paisley Higginson.[2] The bridge was completed in late 1880, and formed a key access route to the Central Otago goldfields. It was replaced by a new highway bridge on State Highway 6 in 1963. It is classified by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust as a Category I historic place. The bridge is known by a variety of names including; Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge, Kawarau Suspension Bridge, Kawarau bridge and Kawarau Bungy Bridge.

my 15 year old daughter wanted to try it, and she did! she loved it! Likely her favourite and most memorable activity in our 12 days in NZ. her jump was at 10am. fortunately, very few ppl around then. By the time we left ard 11am+, crowd was forming already booking : done online, 1 day before on my mobile. seamless. operations : efficiently executed from check-in, to the jump and post jump. If front staff had tried to upsell the 2nd jump (which I noticed was very reasonably priced, abt 25-30% of the ori price iirc), my daughter likely would have gone for it! photo/video quality : very good with up to 60 days to download the files. 19 pics + 1 video (multiple angles, high res photos and beautiful video!). parking : huge space (we drove a 4 seater campervan) spectator viewing area : ample and from 2 different areas available with ZERO charges! price : expensive but worth it! If it was more affordable, likely more of us would have wanted to try as well. Perhaps have a family/group package for one activity
