Winehouse — Attraction in South Island

We got married at Winehouse in Queenstown on 13th February 2025, and it was an absolute dream!

From the start, the team was incredible. We had only viewed the venue via Zoom, but Ella won us over immediately with her beautiful energy and straightforward approach. When we finally saw the venue in person the day before the wedding, we were blown away - it’s even more stunning than we imagined!

The staff went above and beyond throughout the entire process. In the lead-up, we mainly emailed Sam and Ella, and they were always responsive, helpful, and answered every question. Sam was super helpful with helping our vision come to life- I wasn't sure on types of flowers etc, just general vibe and Sam made so many helpful suggestions and organised the flowers and furniture for us too. Ella was also our on-the-day coordinator, and after a relaxed but thorough rehearsal, we went into the wedding with zero concerns - just excitement!

On the day, the Winehouse team was simply magical. The setup was even more beautiful than we had pictured, and every detail was taken care of before we could even think of it. Ella noticed a tiny red dot on my dress (before I even saw it) and was instantly on her knees with soda water and a cloth - just one example of her incredible attention to detail and the care she takes. She made us feel so comfortable all day.

The team ensured we were always taken care of - bringing the bridal party a whole platter of canapés and bubbles during photos and making sure we always had food and drinks. Guests also commented on how accomodating and friendly all the staff were. The food was outstanding, with so many guests telling us how delicious everything was. All dietary requirements were accommodated seamlessly - even when I'd forgotten to mention two of my bridesmaids were pregnant and without me asking Ella noticed and adjusted their meals accordingly. While there’s no BYO option, the pricing is very transparent, and you can set a bar tab limit if you wish. The bar service was super efficient - our guests were never without a drink. We had an espresso martini cocktail hour, and the bar staff were making them so quickly and they were a massive hit!

The venue itself is breathtaking and perfectly designed for each part of the day. There are gorgeous photo spots on-site, so we barely had to leave, allowing us to be present with each other and our guests. The dance floor and bar area were fantastic, keeping the energy high and the dance floor packed all night. The venue has a sound system for speeches and music, and we had no noise restrictions that we were aware of with our DJ. There is also a beautiful wet weather option, which still gives you an indoor/outdoor feel. We were fortunate not to need it, but it was reassuring to know we had such a gorgeous backup.

On top of everything, Winehouse is one of the most reasonably priced venues in Queenstown and there were no hidden costs - everything was up front, and you can add as much or as little as you want. Even with a relatively simple setup compared to some photos we've seen at the venue, the space looked stunning - it truly doesn’t need much to shine.

My Husband and I had our wedding at Winehouse in November24 and we had the most wonderful experience both in the lead up and on the day.

Planning a wedding from overseas is no easy task but from the get-go, Winehouse were so lovely to deal with. There are many reasons we went with Winehouse as our choice of venue, but it truly came down to the transparency, communication and level of detail that were shown to us by Sam from day one.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank-you to Sam, Ella & to the wonderful team at Winehouse. We cannot express enough how grateful we are. The team were incredibly supportive and always ready to assist, allowing us to create the day we envisioned. We are still in awe of the level of detail and kindness that we were shown. I have been a guest at many weddings & organised multiple events through my job and never have I come across a team as professional and fun as yours. You've only ever given us confidence in booking Winehouse and the number of comments from guests praising the staff on the day has been a real highlight. Ella, oh my gosh I cannot praise her more. She was amazing on the day. From being my hype girl, making sure I ate, that things ran smoothly to picking up glass on the dance floor. That girl is a god sent. Apparently one of the bridesmaids bouquets was missing, but I didn’t even know about it and by the time I did, a new one had been organised and delivered to the venue!

I am not lying when I say I truly can’t think of a fault or negative comment from the day, which I think says it all. The only downside was the weather, snow, rain, sun all in a day but even Ella managed to work he magic, and the sun came out in the afternoon allowing an outdoor ceremony. I am not joking when I say, the team within half an hour completely moved the ceremony outside.

Two of the most important elements of the wedding my husband and I agreed on were Food & Drinks. The food was AMAZING, the service & bar staff too, I simply cannot fault. So attentive and fun, having a little dance behind the bar which just made the whole event feel relaxed.

We truly achieved the relaxed and chill wedding we wanted, and many guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended.

We were lucky enough to get married at Winehouse Queenstown in September 2021. There really is nothing else to say other than this is the perfect venue in every aspect!

From the initial enquiry with Andy, to planning and details with Samantha and the planning and running of our wedding day, lead by Kim, everything was spot-on-perfect in every single way to the point that it was literally faultless. Throughout the process the communication from the team was beyond excellent. Andy, Sam and Kim go above and beyond to make your event personalised, special and one you will never forget, absolutely nothing is a problem! Unfortunately Covid-19 made us alter our event due to restrictions posed only days before our wedding date. The Winehouse Team took this in their stride and did everything humanly possible in helping us to reorganise our wedding so it could still go ahead, while meeting government requirements, all in just 3 days!

The wedding day itself was better than perfect and something we will never forget. Everything ran seamlessly thanks to Kim and the fantastic team of Winehouse staff. Attention to detail was amazing, the venue looked breathtaking and the level of service given by the staff is something we have never experienced before! Catering organised by Winehouse through In2Food was exceptional. The quality of the canapès, main meals and dessert was to the level you would expect to see in a fine dining resturaunt. The best thing was Winehouse and In2Food were extremely adaptable in helping us customise menu and food options that reflected our theme, tastes and guest dietary requirements!

If you are thinking of planning a wedding in the Queenstown region, then definitely get in contact with the Winehouse team, you would be mad not to! Also, when planning your wedding make sure you treat yourself to the heli flight up to the mountains...you will NOT regret it!
