Te Arapiki a Tane — Attraction in Palmerston North

Beautifully designed steps. We went down the steps then Took a break and enjoyed looking at the manawatu river. Then went back up the steps with our 3 year old daughter, we had to take breaks as it was tiring for her (and us). My 14 year old just raced up no problem there. The view is really nice and you can enjoy looking at the river if it’s not raining. The parking at the top is a bit funny. If you want some serious exercise without having to pay a cent these steps can provide. There are two sets of steps. One has 180 steps and the other 220 steps. It's a good challenge to go up without stopping. The view is great from the top. On a clear day one an see Mount Ruapehu. Also a good view of Palmerston North and the river. Easy uphill access by Cliff Road and there is parking at the top if you just want to see the view....
