This park is a hidden gem, offering a perfect blend of nature, relaxation, and fun for the whole family. The scenic trails and stunning views of the harbor make it an ideal spot to unwind and connect with nature. Whether you’re exploring the greenery, sitting on a bench, or enjoying a meal at the picnic tables, every corner invites you to slow down and savor the moment.

The newly renovated playground is a fantastic addition, and it’s quickly become a favorite for my kids and me. The flying fox and long slide keep the kids entertained for hours, while I get to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Breathing in the fresh air and watching them play is pure joy. This park is perfect for family outings, romantic strolls, or even solo visits to recharge....

This is our favorite spot to take our dogs being just down the street. For the most part the other dog owners are friendly and have well behaved dogs. Only on two occasions have we run into naughty owners with an untrained dog. All the others we've encountered have been positive. I do recommend avoiding the off lead area if you're afraid of dogs as there tend to be a lot of dogs.

I love seeing the Rosellas in the off lead area. There are plenty of wood pigeons and Tuis throughout the park.

When the tide is out you can walk your dogs a fair way on the beach and there are also plenty of bush walks for on lead dog walking. There is also a play area which includes a zip line separate from the dog area. We're usually lucky with parking because the area isn't...

Entrance can be a bit intimidating driving down, but the park and beaches are wonderful. Plenty of parking, 2x public toilets available, poo bags are provided for people walking their dogs and plenty of rubbish bins around. There's a playground for the kids, and a bqq area at the top. A great place to walk your dog, lots of tree cover for a sunny day picnic. Easy - Medium 30 -40min semi "bush" walk around the park with access to the beach, and one track leads to a vertical of stairs (medium-difficult, but well worth the view...

Great playground for kids and toddlers. The carpark is very limited which is the only downside we found. Thus, not recommended for a large gathering of over 30+ people as you may struggle with carpark issue. We enjoyed two picnics here this summer. One with my family of five and the other with a community group of 25 people. The short walk to Waikowhai beach is pram-friendly too.
