Last week, our family visited the Hare Krishna Centre (ISKCON) in Kumeū, a serene retreat nestled just a short drive from Auckland. As we entered the property, we were greeted by lush greenery stretching as far as the eye could see, a haven of tranquility that immediately set the tone for the day. The gentle mooing of cows, the cheerful clucks of hens, and the soft quacks of ducks created a natural symphony that resonated with the peaceful vibe of the place. Alpacas roamed gracefully in the fields, adding an exotic charm to the serene surroundings.
The well-maintained garden was a feast for the senses, with vibrant flowers blooming in every hue, the fragrance of fresh blossoms wafting through the air. Birds of various species flitted from tree to tree, their melodies blending harmoniously with the environment. Walking amidst this natural beauty, we felt a deep sense of calm wash over us.
The temple itself was an oasis of spirituality. As we stepped inside, the soothing chants of the Hare Krishna mantra transported us to a realm of peace and devotion. The altar, adorned with intricate decorations and deities, emanated a profound sense of divinity. Sitting there, surrounded by the sacred atmosphere, was a rejuvenating experience that touched our souls.
After the prayers, we enjoyed a simple yet delicious vegetarian meal, lovingly prepared and served by the temple community. Sharing this prasad together as a family was not just nourishing but also deeply fulfilling.
The day ended with a quiet stroll around the grounds, watching the animals graze and the sun set over the lush green fields. It was more than just a visit; it was a spiritual retreat that refreshed our minds, rejuvenated our spirits, and brought us closer as a family. We left the Hare Krishna Centre with hearts full of gratitude and a renewed...

Stunning interior, divine bhajan, delicious(prasad )food, happy and blessed volunteers maintaining the temple and its cleanliness. 💚
My husband and I went for a nice sunny drive on a Sunday (a couple weeks back) and we felt content and full of joy after the visit.
There was a massive lotus pond, lots of animals, horses, cows, the temple’s own Gowshala where they produce Ahimsa (non-violent) way of churning ghee, butter and milk.
Everyone are welcomed with a smile and encouraged to participate in the Bhajan (to sing devotional songs). They are thoroughly organised with the events.
If you’re new to Auckland & New Zealand or haven’t had the opportunity to visit ISKCON yet plan the time and pay a visit. Food (Prasad) is served around 2pm every Sunday.
Children would love their time there.

I visited ISKCON Auckland today and had a truly calming and uplifting experience. The temple is surrounded by beautiful greenery, and the atmosphere is very peaceful. The deities of Sri Sri Radha-Giridhari are beautifully decorated, and the devotional chanting (kirtan) added to the spiritual energy of the place.
Everyone was warm and welcoming, and I especially enjoyed the vegetarian lunch (prasadam) they served—simple, delicious, and offered with love.
Whether you're spiritually inclined or just looking for a quiet, serene spot to reflect, ISKCON Auckland is definitely...
