Title: "A Tranquil Haven with Unforgettable Scenery"
Review: My visit to Bushy Beach Scenic Reserve was an unparalleled breath of fresh sea air. Nestled in picturesque Oamaru, New Zealand, it is the perfect balance of wilderness and pristine coast.
The well-maintained trails were easy to navigate, with discreet signage that neatly blended into the natural environment. Each twist and turn was an invitation to explore further into the vibrant native bush and lose yourself in the tranquillity.
The views, however, are the true pinnacle of Bushy Beach. A stunning coastal panorama lays out before you, effortlessly blending the earthy tones of rocks and brush with the soothing vastness of the sea. And yes - the penguins! It's magical watching the endangered Yellow Eyed Penguins blissfully waddle about, quite comfortable in their sanctuary here.
I was also impressed by the thoughtful amenities. Accessibility options, ample parking, and clean restroom facilities are a testament to the management's commitment to ensuring that everyone feels welcome and accommodated.
The Bushy Beach Scenic Reserve isn't just a beach walk, it's an immersive nature escapade and a delightful respite from life's busyness. I cannot recommend it enough! I was left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already planning...
Read moreGood place to spot yellow-eyed penguin and close encounter with fur seals. For penguin spotting its best to come after 3pm when the beach is closed and there is no people walking on the beach. After a short walk from the car park there is a gate entrance to the beach which operate until 3pm. Please respect the beach operating hours as after 3pm the penguins will start to make their way back to their nest. I have seen a few people still go down to beach at 3pm and it really disrupt those that wanted to spot penguins from the lookout at the top as penguins is very shy and they wont come ashore if there is human on the beach. We manage to see 4 penguins on the first visit a month back around 3.30pm and 4ish. And we saw 2 penguins 2 days ago around 4.20pm and 4.30pm. They are cute little creature and they way they jump on the pebbles...
Read moreSuch a nice place to enjoy the ocean and cliffs, limited but free parking, easy and brief walk to lookout or beach, small shelter at the lookout spot with information about wildlife. Could spot multiple seals chilling on the beach when I was there, but it states that sea lions, yellow eyed penguins and dolphins (I think) also show up in the area. It’s seriously so easy to access that it almost would be a shame to miss, so spare 20 mins while in Oamaru and visit...
