Lincoln Wetlands — Attraction in South Island

An okay walk, but not really a wetlands walk. We took 20 minutes to do the loop. If you are happy with grass and gravel, this would be nice, but birdwatchers will find it lacking. The stepping stones section is very cool though, I've never seen anything like it. It's also the only real wetland section of the walk.

It does look like they're doing lots of planting which is good to see. If they integrated the walk with the wetland more and added a spot for this would be...

An enjoyable sojourn for all ages in any weather if you are the outdoor type as there is no shelter. Easy flat terrain, suitable to almost all levels. Sadly, there is no access to the lake area & little view either due to vegetation. Creek/waterway clogged in most areas by the invasive 'Seep Monkey Flower' weed & others, much need for intervention by council or whoever is responsible for...

Literally nothing to see here. Came here based on Google reviews hoping for a good walking spot but we left disappointed. The stepping stones get fully covered in water even for mild rain two days before so the walk cannot be done most times. We then walked in the side path and could see the water from far but...
