Lovely views of ocean water with boats about frequently where there is breaks in the foliage. It is a nice way to get some more exercise than a normal walk outside and take some time with nature. Very quiet and peaceful.

The trail there isn't indicated on Google maps, but the trail itself is easily distinguishable, just be sure not to go on the bike trails when you are walking.

There is a maintained toilet stall at the view point with a long drop toilet, small trash can, and toilet paper. It also has a rainwater tank with faucet and hand sanitizer dispenser attached to it.

There is a bench 3/4 of the trail to view point and a picnic table at view point. The trail is mostly up hill to the view point but that also means it is mostly down hill to get back.

Be careful because it can be quite steep at points especially off the side of trail and mud makes parts quite slippery after rain. Bring good footwear, water, apply light layer of sunscreen (though most of track is shaded), and some bug spray. Generally a decent breeze going so it doesn't get too hot.

The road is one way to parking lots (there are more than one, so make sure you stop at right one or you have to walk more). The road is steep and winding for the most part and you must go slow because pedestrians could be around curves.

There is a park at start of one way road up to Snout Track parking, so if you have kids(or adults) in your group who want to sit out the walk they can...

There is no access to the Snout track and lookout via the waikawa marina, despite what google maps shows. Properties on the west side of Waikawa marina are all privately owned and there are no tracks going up to the snout track/lookout. To access the lookout and Snout track you have to go up from the Picton side. Shame on Google maps to make up directions that don’t exist!!! And shame on Google maps for not having a contact to share the misinformation and have...

Queen Charlotte View is a viewpoint along the Queen Charlotte Sound. Its anout 1/2 way along the Snout Point Track which takes you to the tip of the Peninsula giving a view into Waikawa Bay. The bush is regenerating and a bit scrubby; today providing much needed shade. The view over the water is stunning and makes this a very...
