Saltwater baths were created and looked after by locals. They allow swimming at all tides and help children learn to swim . Locals give their time for free so please respect the clean baths . Nice place to sit on a sunny day. Tides, are over 4 meters in Tasman Bay so baths, are useful on a hot day at low tide. Parking playground and changing sheds close by. 3 day max camping ground close.

Concrete and wood built into the ocean to great a reasonable size pool which is over your head in depth, no sand and not really any critters getting in - apparently they used to be worried about sharks which is why it was built. Can dive from the platform above (or jump at least)- very fun!

This is actually pretty good for a free public access pool. The water is warmer than the sea. Good kids pool. Great for lengths. About 25meters in length. There is an outdoor freshwater shower at the ablution block by the car park. We use it regularly when in the area.

Not only is this only one of two saltwater baths in NZ , but the only .one on such an incredibly idyllic bay . We also now have three brand new bespoke toilets cum change rooms. Open September through to May and cleaned fortnightly , purely by volunteers.

At high tide the option to float over the seawall is too tempting to pass over 😀. PS A historic places trust protected property makes this an intergenerational protected Community Asset...

The kids love this place.. Something a bit different.. And it's an activity that doesn't cost anything. There's a good playground right there as well that has several picnic tables. A toilet block and plenty of rubbish bins so there's no excuse for littering.. Its a great thing to do on a hot sticky day.. A salt water pool and a picnic topped off with a swing, a slide...
